Professor Ross Garnaut, who led the 2008 Garnaut Climate Change Review:
It's true that we're only part of the world community, and this is a global problem. And what we've got to do is make sure that we're encouraging the world to take strong action and not discouraging the world. China's a much bigger emitter than us, but if you divided China into 25 countries with Australia's population, each of those on average would have half the emissions of Australia. So we're a world beater in emissions per person.
