Hunters of the supernatural always seemed more like an idea, some faraway notion, than a true living breathing threat. After all, aren’t the boogeymen in children’s stories usually exaggerated or made up? You know better now. Thanks to hunters, you were left to navigate the harsh world alone, newly aware of just how dangerous it could be. Of course, your thoughts continue to turn to revenge. Most fae wouldn’t dare face a warden head-on. They prefer trickery, escape, torture through words. But with fury in your heart and sharp teeth ready to be bloodied, you’re going to hunt them right back. Maybe you’re after the wardens who personally wronged you or maybe you’re going after any you can get within your sights. Little do you know you might end up being the monster in a child’s story.

You’ve always known that rules are important, especially in a world where morality on its own can be complicated and hard to pin down. It’s better to have set guidelines in place, and your family made sure you learned theirs the moment your special abilities began developing. Unfortunately, some of those rules are… a little odd sometimes. Keep the supernatural a secret. Of course. A monster is never to be trusted. Obviously. Exorcisms should never be performed on a Tuesday. Yeah, that has to be right. While you’re an ace in your chosen field, you don’t realize how frequently your reliance on these rules slows you down and might put you and others in danger. Wicked’s Rest could give you the wake up call that you need – that not every answer can be found in your endless book of rules – or the unpredictability of the town may only make you cling to what you know so much more.

Being human is all you want, especially after what you’ve gone through. Normal, normal, normal. You don’t even want to hear anyone speak what you are. So you've gotten very good at pretending the supernatural doesn't exist, explaining away everything with backwards logic and excuses, even though those around you know better and you know better. Sure, maybe you’re suppressing something, hiding a lot, and putting people at risk doing so… but if you just ignore it hard enough, maybe it’ll go away instead of exploding in your face. But things are changing in Wicked’s Rest – it could be your disintegrating control, or that the magic you rely on is crumbling along with the walls of denial you constructed. Soon you won’t be able to hide what you are, even from yourself. Eventually, your denial is going to get someone hurt. Maybe it’s time to face the truth… or maybe you can pretend even harder.

All you need is the right group to meld, a way to convince them you’re special and worth listening to, and then power is all yours. What you choose to do with it – well, maybe it is only self-serving, but you might have a good reason for needing this authority. After all, you’re far from the most dangerous thing out there.

Unfortunately, Scribes are secretive and don’t exactly hold recruitment events at the community center. But you won’t let that stop you. You’ve been fighting uphill battles all your life – what’s one more?
