Dining Among the Clouds: Our Finnish Anniversary Adventure
Celebrating our anniversary at Puijo Tower in Kuopio, Finland, was like stepping into another world. For months we'd seen this tower silhouetted against the sky, but experiencing it up close was magical.
Imagine this: sitting 75 meters above ground in a slowly rotating restaurant, watching the endless Finnish forests and lakes scroll past your window like a dream. The golden evening light making everything glow. The restaurant doing a complete 360° rotation while you eat!
The local delights buffet featured small-batch Finnish cuisine - I couldn't get enough of the mushroom pâté (went back THREE times). My husband had the three-course menu with beef that had been slow-cooked for over 50 hours.
There's something deeply moving about seeing a place you're still getting to know from such a different perspective. Every familiar landmark appearing and disappearing from view as we dined.
Little warning though: if you get motion sick easily, the constant rotation might make you a bit queasy (speaking from experience!)
