These past two weeks our team has been working on jointing and ripping the white oak boards that will be put on the ceiling! First we begin by jointing one side of the board to remove the bow out of the board.
When the boards are extremely bowed we rip down one edge by popping a chalk line on the board and then running the worm drive circular saw down the straight line. This helps us from having to run the board through the jointer several times. After one side of the board has been joined, we take the board to the table saw and either rip it down to 3″, 5″, or 7″ wide.
