A COUPLE OF PUMPKINS WERE NOTHING COMPARED TO WEIGHT TRAINING, placing as many as he could in the wheelbarrow. making use of space, that way there was no need for a second trip. a whole dorm to decorate, they’d be needing as many as they could get their hands on. a generous supply here, not even a basket’s worth would make a dent.
“ king of halloween, huh. ” he grumbled, little to impress when he’s watching him huff & puff over a couple of pumpkins. “ don’t sleep on it, ‘cause there’s other groups workin’ just as hard. ” a little bit of friendly competition never hurt nobody. jack wasn’t willing to roll over & allow this guy to think they were going to fall second over a title.
their own group was holding the coliseum, a bit of a stretch for their theme — but with the manpower they had, putting up a small structure in a matter of a week was no big feat. watching the struggle before him, it was making a lot of sense why their team would need a place like ramshackle. poor yuu, never catching a break — but he supposed they were used to it by now.
“ ’s not like you’re gunna get it there any other way. ” not with that struggle. leg strength wasn’t gunna save a guy like this, he was skipping every day of the week of exercise it seemed. course, with a wheelbarrow, strength was needed to lift the back end off the ground for the wheels to be of any use. ditching out of a job halfway wasn’t his style, and passing up on a bit of physical labor — coming off as lazy wasn’t for him either. doing it for the sake of helping this guy? now, that wasn’t his angle. he’d deny that one till he was red in the face.
with a light squeak of the rusty components starting to turn, he avoided the direct answer. if he followed, so be it. if not, it’d be waiting at ramshackle for him.
