Not gonna lie that seeing this view and this moment in particular solidified my will to have a place in Manila someday 🤣 PGH and the WHO-PH WPR HQ are literally just one train ride away from each other and THAT DISTANCE just felt like such a perfect fit to have a condo in someday. That sunset by the bay view is a BIG plus in addition to being able to jog around Roxas Blvd when things get too overwhelming. This dream will have to wait though and admittedly I’m thankful that this dream is for some other time. One dream at a time daw muna sabi ni Lord hekhek

I have always been fascinated with sunset. And the historical Manila Bay is known for a perfect place to watch and witness the sunset. :)

We Are One. That was the name of the theme as Hotel Jen Manila, located along Roxas Blvd., celebrated its 1st anniversary just last March 31, 2016.

My wife and I, together with a couple of good friends from our foodie group (The KTG) were invited to join the fun festivities.

Hotel Jen Manila turns ONE

The entire merry-making was streamed online in real-time via the Periscope app and projected on a widescreen. This way, not only the folks over at “Windows By The Bay” (the newly opened lounge inside Hotel Jen Manila) could be part of the celebration, but also the people at Hotel Jen’s other properties spread across South East Asia: Hotel Jen Penang, Hotel Jen Brisbane, Hotel Jen Shenyang, Hotel Jen Hong Kong, Hotel Jen Puteri Harbour, Hotel Jen Male,Hotel Jen Upper East Beijing, Hotel Jen Orchard Gateway and Hotel Jen Tanglin.

During the party, a three-layered cake was also displayed at the center of the lounge. This cake featured a Philippine flag, symbolizing our unique and beautiful Filipino culture. Ed Kollmer, Hotel Jen Manila’s General Manager, headed the ceremonial cake cutting.

But, recognizing our culture wouldn’t be complete without a good round of Pinoy-style feasting! So, Hotel Jen Manila continued its fun anniversary celebration at the poolside by way of a Filipino fiesta – complete with music, colorful banderitas, pamaypays, and of course… food! Lot’s of it!

I actually didn’t know which dish to attack first – the lechon, kare-kare, or the kaldereta. I was happily confused. Hahaha!

It goes without saying that this fun anniversary party was a huge success.

Congratulations, Hotel Jen Manila, on your 1st year! May you last long enough to become a national landmark just like Intramuros or the Cultural Center of the Philippines — both of which are located just a stone’s throw away from your establishment.

With the company of amazing landmarks in the area that you’re in… I’d say you’re well on your way. Cheers!
