Founded as an abbey, it has the status of cathedral of the diocese of Saint-Denis since 1966.
A magnificent block issued in 2015 is dedicated to him; There is a couple lying, Robert II the Pious and his wife Constance d'Arles.
Indeed, the Basilica is also a royal necropolis.
Culturally, it welcomes every year the music festival of Saint-Denis, and we can appreciate the sound made by this building.
