What are your favorite RP Blogs? Are there any tricks to getting something going with them? I love following some of your threads and those of some other people too. It seems like the RPs pick favorites after a while though.

Anyone who’s not listed here is not a commentary on the quality of anyone’s blog or content, just my personal lack of awareness of or interaction with them. @mariesackler has a list of all the blogs going right now.

I don’t really know of any ‘tricks’ per se to get something going. But, I think that a lot of them get bombarded with similar things and that they enjoy new ideas or concepts. Also, giving a writer something they can work with and play off of is probably going to lead to something more involved and more fun for both people. However, sometimes things just flop lol.

Regarding the RPs picking favorites. I think that ‘picking favorites’ is a juvenile concept, and I do not think anyone intentionally picks favorites like a high school popularity clique. I think, quite naturally, some people get along better than others and play off of each other better than others.

However, the way that someone, whether an RP blog or otherwise, wants to run their blog is entirely their business. Their reasons for running their blog the way they want are no one else’s business at all and their decisions are not subject to scrutiny by anyone else.

No one is entitled to anything at all from anyone, RP or otherwise. No RP blogs are obligated in any way to provide anyone anything. All the content and interaction they provide is completely gratuitous and subject to their discretion. This feeling of entitlement and obligation that’s been insidiously floating around is absurd.

The RP blogs are run by wonderfully talented and creative people who are devoting their time to engage in so many fun narratives. Their contributions should be greatly appreciated, whether or not you’re an active participant.
