Eyes sparkling at the ring, Sephia smiles.

“OH CONGRADULATIONS!! March is a lovely time of year to get married,” Sephia hums.

“Nice mild weather. Flowers blooming. It makes for a nice background for photos and ceremonies. May you have a wonderful wedding,” Cole chimed in.

At the notion of the others with them, Sephia chuckled.

“Oh these little ones? Children flock to me all the time.   They just want to see the festivities.  My parents actually have my little one tonight. They insisted on taking her out so it gave us time to travel.  Halloween is a fun time for all. Mostly for children, but we adults can have fun too,” Sephia remarked.

“Thank you,” Queenie hums happily. “It is, isn’t it? Yes, thank you both. I wanted to have it in the springtime, but I want us to be married before my darling’s next birthday, so March-to-April is best.” 

She tilts her head as Sephia explains her ‘children’. “I see . . . well, they’re quite welcome here. You have a child of your own?” Queenie raises her eyebrows. “Quite right. This is one of my favourite holidays, I don’t see why I should deny myself a celebration just because I’m older. If I must have a social event each year, I want it to be this one.”

‘Mmm, that’s a very good question,’ Smokescreen settled in for a very long talk.  ‘Yet death is a subject you do not want to even think about, meaning extinction is something you still fear.  What do you think the point of life is?’

I can explain

Nero had rung Cecil and gave him the quick list of instructions on needing his last spare room ready in the next 3 days. The trip would have taken 6 hours there and 6 back so the easiest option had been to stay close by in a motel like he had suggested.

He visited the hospital everyday as did Marcus. Their relationship remained strained, and the odd insult or dig would been thrown out. Often as a whisper to avoid their mothers stern telling off. She grew stronger everyday and soon they had no doubt, strong enough to butt their heads together if they kept arguing. So attempting a civil appearance was best.

Day 4 fleur recieved her release papers. Marcus helped her to his black SUV, packing her new things into a duffel bag. Sophie and Artemis jumped into the boot where their beds were always kept, settling in for the long drive. He explained that morning that Nero had left earlier, to get back and explain everything to Winnie and the others.

Running on half a bagel and 3 cups of coffee Nero had headed straight home, irritable and cranky from lack of slee on those horrid sheets. Rose informed him that Winnie was still at abis place, giving him a very dissapproving look. He’s deal with her and Phil later.

Pulling up to the curb at abis house, he adjusted his shirt ( the same one from the failed picnic) checked his teeth and ruffled his hair a little before getting out.

It was a great day for visiting the surface … though Sabi’s opinion of ‘great’ meant it was slightly cold, a little cloudy, and there were very few other people about. He’d brought his brother along, too – heaven knows Tay needed to get out of the palace once in a while. He’d been getting better, but it was all the more important to keep an eye on him because of that.

After insisting that Tay wear some arm warmers (he had not been happy, but complied) Sabi had taken him to Inkopolis Pier to visit the arcades. To be doubly safe, the location was in another world – or so he hoped. The method he’d used to get there was walking and wishing. It was unlikely anyone would recognise either of them as Octavio anyway, but Sabi wanted to take as few chances as possible. Some young Octolings could be very perceptive.

“Hey, I think I know those guys,” Tay says suddenly, snapping Sabi out of his thoughts. They were still strolling along outside, so it was easy to scan the area for other people. Tay points, and sure enough – yes, Sabi knew them too. He was about to say so, but he’s interrupted by his brother loudly coming to a realisation:

“Wait a minute, that other one… that’s the fraud that tricked me into adoption!”

“Oh dear. I had a feeling Reed couldn’t have come from anywhere else…”

“I’m going to give him a piece of my mind!”

“Wait, no—”

At long last, Finn had completed the painting he’d promised Jesse. It’d taken much more time than he’d predicted, on account of his preoccupation with agent work . . . but it was finally done! Having already texted the other squid directions to meet him at his house, he was giving the picture one last look-over before he covered it with a white cloth.

“Do you think he’ll like it?”

He spoke to another guest, leaning over him—he’d invited Marina, in the hopes that he could have his friends make friends. The redheaded Octoling was certainly more extroverted than he was, which would help.

“Do you want me to say ‘no’ this time? Of course he will, it looks great,” she chided him, jolting upright as she heard the chime of the doorbell . “I’ll get it.”

“But it’s my hou—”

Too late, she was already halfway there.

Finn’s parents’ house was rather large and ornate, inside and out. It wasn’t a mansion, but a number of the antique furnishings were telltale signs of the kind of salary the homeowners had. Such signs included the great grandfather clock in the entrance hallway, which Marina huffed at in irritation and surprise as it struck the hour. Ignoring the din, she opened the front door wide.

“Are you Jesse? Finn’s in the next room over.”

In an unintentionally cold manner, Marina didn’t give her name at first, but stood to the side, indicating that the new guest was permitted entry.

Rodimus hadn’t slept in several days. He honestly couldn’t figure out why for a while. Ratchet had told him it was because his frame was still on high alert after the DJD had attacked the ship, and wouldn’t calm back down. So here he is, sitting at the bar at Swerve’s and trying to relax enough to pass out.

He watched the other patrons laughing and talking as he drank, his field anxious and tense despite his relaxed look.

Smokescreen had gotten a call from Swerve of a drinker doing the wrong kind of drinking.  Normally not a problem for Swerve, but this is the captain.  A captain drowning his sorrows in high grade always goes badly for the ship.

Smokescreen stood off to the side of the doorway upon entering, emergency bag over shoulder, observing Rodimus.  His posture says Rodiums is worrying about something, watchful of the room fearing something,  but otherwise not interested in moving.  Deciding Rodimus is not on the edge of a violent outburst, Smokescreen eased up to the stool next to Rodimus and sat down, with his bag on the opposite side and pushed back under his door as far as he could get it.

‘Afternoon, Captain.  Tough day already?’ Smokescreen asked as he signaled Swerve over and asked for some regular energon.
