You're Australian? If it's alright, can you confirm something for me? Is the Swooping Season real? Is that an actual thing that happens in Australia?
swooping season is real!! I’m surprised it’s not a common thing elsewhere, I vividly remember chatting to some international friends and going “hold on wait a bird is attacking me” and they lost their minds but no, this is normal especially in the springtime! one season, I got attacked almost daily on my walk to class so it was more of a mad dash to get indoors LMAO all the students be sprinting!! there’s this one nature corridor that has like COVES of attacker birds and if you have to go down it, you gotta RUN RUN RUN
oh, and one time!! I was minding my own business and this giant magpie just started chasing me and threw a rock at me (clever thing) and I was like HELLO??? IT WAS VERY SCARY BUT I LOVE BIRDS AND ANIMALS VERY MUCH SO I’M OKAY WITH IT... though I will mention, I am very susceptible to bird attacks for some reason?? birds love to attack me, I was pecked by one of those little sparrows while just chilling and I was like. aww. why did you do that. but aww. it depends on the neighborhood though, some birds are more aggressive than others and some will bounce in front of your gate until you open it because they’re too lazy to fly... aaand I’m sorry for rambling, I just think it’s one of the funniest things to share, there’s your Australia anecdotes for today
