Words and illustration by @caleblee81 : “For the past 5 or so weeks I’ve been picking random people to draw to help try and raise the spirits of people around the world using my art during the quarantine. This piece, this isn’t random and it’s not meant to lift anyone’s spirits. For centuries art in all of its forms has been used to tell stories and to bring awareness to everyone who sees, hears, reads and feels it. As an artist it is my job to do the same. This is Ahmaud Arbery. Arbery was chased down on February 23 of this year by two terrorist/racist/murderers and killed while he was out for a jog. Ahmaud was only 25 years old, dressed in workout clothing, without any weapons or stolen items. The only thing Ahmaud did was be black while jogging in a southern Georgia neighborhood. That was enough for two white men and their neighbor to chase him down, box him in and shoot him multiple times. These three men, armed with a shot gun and a hand gun have yet to be arrested while a mother now morns the loss of her son.” #blackmensmile #RIPAhmaudArbery #JusticeForAhmaud #RPeterson #sketching . . 25 different colors. One for each year he was alive. https://www.instagram.com/p/B_3bbjZgtGI/?igshid=1vca4xnuoj5mi
