Okay but like
Im not entirely against a book in percy Jackson style but about fae mythology(especially considering how well the concept of changellings would work as an equivalent for the demigods concept, like i think a good writter could really pull this off)
My problem is more that i dont trust rick to pull this off at all
ESPECIALLY considering how Irish mythology had been bastardized in recent literature and how rick doesnt really like to do research to the original myths, mostly Securing himself in the current pop culture imaginary
And ESPECIALLY considering irish people are still sufering from the effects of colonization and how theyre culture is slowly being erased including yk, THEYRE FUCKING LANGUAGE!like i cant really trust an north American author that already have a trend of americanizing myths to treat irish mythology with the necessery respect and to honor the original culture and people that it came from…like i can only imagine with how badly theyre editors are working and with how the fandom treats rr what he will think he is free to do without suffering consequences…that is to say Lets stopped buying books from american authors appropriating whats not theyres(Cough cough sjm is another good example)and Lets support authors from the people that culture came from please!
