I feel that most of the aspects that people praise so much atla for are not worth that much praise….dont take me wrong i dont Mean theyre bad its just that compared to a lot of other pieces of fantastical media i consume it just feels like atla is applauded for doing the bare minimum of whats expected in a good written fantasy show

We know that there are 4 bendings each with its own subset of habilits and thats fine until you start to question who gets that power and how……we know that some people can do it and others cant but why that is???is it genetic???spiritual????it need treining to function or someone can have that habilit and use it without the intention to???and worse yet how does it work???it is clearly conected to the physical moves but how do we know what move does what to what bending???and people who are not benders are unable to do certain moves or is it because they can do the moves but it doesnt create the same effect???and why does it not do the same effect????and why the fuck all the airbenders can do it???? And when we go to the great worldbulding it is not much better like…we know spirits exist but what about religion???those spirits are cultuated by the people or do they believe in different things???if bending is related to spirituallity why the hell the royal fire family gets that power???why and how the fire nation started to radicalize and become imperialist??how does the air nomades are able to mantain theyre group if man and woman live in different Spaces???how is theyre familial structure???what is the coin everyone uses???why the water nation are able to mantain similar cultures despite being on polar opposite on map???everyone speak the same language??how??and many other questions super important to worldbulding are unaswered….and like for an story that is all about cultural diferences the countrys dont feel like diffferent cultures….they have a thin veil of difference but in habits, language, religion,social roles and expectations relation to education and familial structure aswell as goverment theyre kinda the same place…..and again its not that worldbulding need a to aswer everything, atla aswers what it NEEDS to continue the story but like…..its not that detailed either My Dude…..compare it to something like made in abyss its kinda feels very basic…..like witch hat atelier does magic systhem way better sorry to say if you think atla is the best fantasy has to offer you need to consume other fantastical mídia.

Luluci having an arc of understanding how the knights of moralis despite of having saved her are still a very corrupted force that only helped her because she was a witch and are basically blind to any type of suffering that forbidden magic or even magic as a common knowlodge of the population could resolve….her relating to dagda because she once was also at the mercy of power structures against her…..this works even better as she decides to instead of erasing custas memory she adopts him as a apprentice(this of course in a au where custas doesnt become a tree when he is happy)then she would open up to dagda telling him of her trauma and how even though she thought she could help other people lifes by joining then she just noticed they are not the way to solve this type of thing and that she as a person with good intentions Will still be corrupted by the Systems that puts some up and others down…..and she would activly train custas and dagda with magic and dagda would listen to her and pay her with his music…..idk man i just think theyre relationship has sooo much potential…..i also would be obsseced with after theyre dating luluci just trys super hard to gain custas approval while custas is of course the superprotective son…..if only my man dagda didnt die….he deserves to have his happy ending with his son and his knew witch friend/romantic interest….

1-WHY THE FUCK DO AN STORY NEED TO HAVE DARK CONTENT TO BE GOOD!!!!???like you can have a good story that can be targeted to everyone and still manages to be extremly well written and theres nothing with less artistic merit in doing a story more optmistic about its themes like you can have a good story and not have trigger warnings….actually i think the argument should be the opposite….if youre putting something heavy in youre story you should have a motive why because then it Will just come up as desnecessary suffering that adds no point and if youre story is unable to deal with heavy themes with theyre respect they deserve and with the weight and importance they deserve they should not be INCLUDED.POINT

2-speaking of dark content WITCH HAT ATELIER HAS DARK CONTENT!!!!like CUSTAS WHOLE DEAL, LULUCYS RAPE, EUNIE TRANSFORMATION ETC but like those dark things are given the importance they deserve plus time to breath and for those dudebros if an story isnt an endless storm of desnecessary suffering porn them its BORING and its BAD like witch hat atelier is not the darkest shit around but its not an angelic no problem story aswell, but for those people it doesnt matter how the story handles its dark content it matter what story is the edgiest and darkest, even if this darkness have zero effect on the story and its handled like shit!!!!i dare them to find a story about suffering more meaninfull them custas but they cant because ooooo its not dark enough gonna fall asleep if i dont see blood and desnecessary gore in two seconds
