Este gives off the impression that she’s too cool, but on the inside, she’s absolutely losing it. Despite having a brain that thinks in overtime, she’s game for whatever and often opts to “go-with-the-flow” rather than get confrontational. She doesn’t think with her heart or her mind, but rather with her gut. If there’s anything Este won’t do, it’s revealing her true cards — they’re kept close to her chest and resulting in her being the ultimate wild card.

Interested in: Griff, Adegoke, and sees everyone else as fair game, but for some stupid reason can’t get a certain caramel-smelling, Star-Wars-loving Junior Producer out of her damn head…

I just noticed I finished the starting islanders (including my MC Este)!! posting for prosperity reasons more than anything. I just love looking at the differences in style between them all and their original partners! this series has been so much fun, and I’ll still be working on it here and there (s1, I’m looking at you 👀), but excited to start on some other ones *soon*!

Este didn’t have an adult growing up who she could vent to and saw art as her only outlet of expression. While pursuing her Fine Art degree during her undergrad, she volunteered painting classes to kids, and realised she could offer something more than just teaching technique. So she got her Master’s in Art Therapy and Creativity Development and became certified. At the town’s psychiatric clinic, she offered sessions to children and adolescents while still teaching group art classes in local community centers. 💛

With Este and Henrik, it’s about the soft, intimate, light-hearted moments. There’s a shared silent understanding between them, never needing more than a touch of a hand to feel the other’s emotions. There’s no doubts or fears, just comfort and security. You can expect them to travel a lot together or doing outside activities, but they’re just as happy to stay holed-up and enjoying the quiet or goofing off around the house.

Islander Interiors: Talia 🎼

Talia is cool, effortless, easy-going, and her home would absolutely reflect that. She’s someone who loves greenery everywhere, but would never describe herself as a ‘plant mom’. It took years of them dying before she even knew remotely what she was doing. Talia seldomly cleans for tidiness and only does it for necessity. She’s the type to leave books, cups, and even her laptop on the ground without a second thought. So if you’re coming over, be forewarned — Talia will wave the mess off and you’ll just have to watch your step. But the vibes are immaculate: There’s always fresh air and sunlight pouring through each room. The smokey smell of incense. Old tunes softly scratching out of a record player. At the end of the day, her favourite hiding spot is her sun-room, where she can lounge for hours, smoking a blunt, and listening to an artist she’s writing an article about.
