Review Game - Feed My Zoo
Mobile games for smartphones has become something big, thanks to the advancement of smartphone in our everyday life, making almost all people to carry smartphones wherever and whenever they are. It can be something small and simple, to something big and complex. It can be something just to kill time, to something very addicting. This time I will review a mobile game by the name of Feed My Zoo. A puzzle game developed by MagicBean for Android system. The premise of the game is simple, like its title, its a game about feeding animals in zoo. It can be downloaded for free here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.haswood.magicbean.feedmyzoo&hl=en Now then, lets feed this review;
Gameplay - 7.5/10 The gameplay is surprisingly challenging. Don’t let the cute design fooled you, the game really challenge your brain in quick thinking and multi-tasking because of the timers. There are not one, not two, but THREE time limit in the game that players need to watch; the time of the round on the top right, and the time of the animal’s satisfaction shown as heart meter, and the time of the foods that are random and unexpected. For the puzzle itself though, its not too difficult. just simply matching 3 same kind of food, but you also need to match it with what the animals want or they will not be satisfied.
Art - 8/10 The design of the game is cute, cartoony, and colorful. I like the overall design, from the zoo to the animals to the foods.
Story - 1/10 There are some games that doesn’t need or doesn’t rely on a plot or story, and this game is one of them. Its a puzzle game with an excuse plot, meaning that It doesn’t go into details with the story because the story bits are just there as a broad strokes excuse for the gameplay and for some entertaining comedy. So yeah you won’t find out why the food got eyeballs and why did the carrots look fat and round like oranges and seem to emotionlessly looking straight into your soul.
Sound - 7/10 Music is simple but with nice beats in it. The sound kind off invoke something like an upbeat tribal music to my ear, which quite a nice fitting with the setting of the game in my opinion.
My Overall Value - 7/10 Overall, Feed My Zoo is a not a bad game. The concept of the puzzle gameplay and structure is not really original, but Its above mediocre in terms of quality thanks to its difficulty that makes it a good challenge to play. However, you need internet to play this game. If you are not connected to the internet, then unfortunately you can not play it at all.
Plus: - The design look charming and adorable - The puzzle gameplay is nicely challenging
Minus: - You need to be connected to the internet in order to play it
Should you try this? Why Not Especially for those who are looking for a game with colorfully cute design, and especially for those who are looking for a challenging puzzle game.
Game Informer reviews!
2 days ago our GameInformer came, and if you know Jay and I, our GI usually becomes a coaster for our drinks. We don't hate this magazine, it just commonly disappoints us. This one didn't disappoint as much, and over the next few days I'll be breaking down some of the content I personally find interesting, but firstly, today I will post the scores that GI has given to games that have recently come out.
Shadows of Mordor (PS4/XONE/PC): 8.25/10 Alien Isolation (PS3/PS4/360/XONE/PC): 7.75/10 FIFA 15 (PS3/PS4/360/XONE/PC): 9.25/10 NHL 15 (PS4/XONE): 5.5/10 Destiny (PS3/PS4/360/XONE): 8.75/10 (this is much better than what BSG rated it...) Disney Infinty: Marvel Super Heroes (PS3/PS4/360/XONE/WIIU): 6.5/10 Wasteland 2 (PC): 8.75/10 The Sims 4 (PC): 6.75/10 (BSG Rated it a 6.5/10 so we're pretty close for once) Forza Horizon 2 (360/XONE): 8.25/10 Bayonetta 2 (WIIU): 9/10 Hyrule Warriors (WIIU): 8/10 Super Smash Bros 3DS (3DS): 9.25/10
And that's it. If you want to take the average out of this you are left with PS3: 8.06/10 (32.25 total/4 game(s)) PS4: 7.67/10 (46 total/6 game(s)) 360: 8.10/10 (40.5 total/5 game(s)) XONE: 7.75/10 (54.25 total/7 game(s)) PC: 8.15/10 (40.75 total/5 game(s)) 3DS: 9.25/10 (9.25 total/1 game(s)) WiiU: 7.83/10 (23.5 total/3 game(s))
I won't count 3DS' 9.25 rating because it only had 1 notable game rated (despite others coming out and this issue not covering it) But it's interesting to see PC games average the highest with 8.15 and PS4 average the lowest with 7.67.
Hungry for more Hunger Games!!!
I havnt actually read the book so I can't really compare the movie Vs. the book. And we should not compare a movie and a book hey are 2 different things!
I truly enjoyed the movie, it was well paced and the actors really suit their roles. they really did a good job incorporating the cliche's of reality TV , like when they manipulated the two characters to add a romantic twist.
The exploitation of the human emotion and situations, these are recurring themes in most reality TV. it was clearly conveyed in the book/movie and used to tell the story of oppression and brutality. Reality TV is still a big business and everyone seems to have a love and hate relationship with it, so how far do you think can reality go? Will we see a Hunger Games in are tv sets in the Future?
The Tributes for the 12 districts
Going back to the movie, what I didn't like was the lack of violence which took away the ferocity and danger out of the story, the raw emotion of survival and the idea of kill or be killed was not in the hunger games movie (watch battle royal and you'll understand why violence was needed in the story). I think this was done to get better rating thus wider audience (more money).
When the book was released it was compared to a Japanese novel Battle Royal, both books deals with the same premise. I watched the Battle Royal movie version and I can say that there are a lot of similarities but I think it was not Suzanne Collin's intention to copy Battle Royal. In my opinion both films are great and a must watch for every body.
The first movie has set a good foundation for a new and successful franchise.albeit it was not as fierce as I expected it to be, but it has other elements for me to want watch the next Hunger games Film.
Now I'm Hungry for more hunger Games!!!
