Hurdle 1 ❄ Rock Candy Rubble <Tsukasa>
The subway was nice and quiet. Despite being such an extrovert, the skier enjoys a moment or two of silence. Of concentration. Despite what most people think, even himself at times, he likes to take some time to just breathe and think. Kaneto Shirousagi is no stranger to dire circumstances. Nor suffering. But just because he’s familiar with it doesn’t mean he wants it in his life. He’s not sure about the others, but he has no intention of either staying here or playing that bear’s game. If both choices look bad, break through and find another choice. That’s his way of thinking.
It’s that thinking that brought him here - not just for the silence but to inspect the area as a whole. Sure, the rubble’s blocking the tunnel pretty good, there’s no denying it’d take a forklift to remove that stuff... but that didn’t mean it was the end of the line. Maybe some of the debris had caused a hole elsewhere, a new tunnel. Or perhaps there was some other thing to discover, like if one of the purifiers was down here. That’d be weird, a bit nonsensical but maybe it’s make sense in that upside-down kind of ironic way.
Either way you lost nothing by trying and he wasn’t ready to just give up when he hadn’t tried his best yet.
A step echoes through the large area and his head bobs up, not too dissimilar to an alert dog. He finds himself just staring around the area before finally opting to go greet whoever it is properly.
“Hey, someone’s there, right? C’mon over, could use the second opinion.”
If at worst someone had bad intentions at least he was letting them know he knew they were there. And he was ready if it came to that.
