DJ SPOTLIGHT: RS SMOOTH
RS Smooth is a household name in the music scene in Eastern Canada. A true veteran, with 20 years of DJing under his belt and as an on-air radio host and DJ since 1993 on Halifax's college radio station CKDU 88.1 FM.
When asked where his favourite place to DJ is, you can hear the pride in his response; " I feel like I haven't been there yet. I love DJing in front of a crowd that really wants to party but, I don't really have a favourite place to DJ...yet. Although, I will say that I LOVE DJing in North Preston, Nova Scotia. Always a good time for sure! But ask me this question again in 10 years!" Self-proclaimed as being best known for being a part of music whether it's DJing parties or clubs, radio shows, singing, emceeing, writing music, hosting concerts & shows, it's evident that RS has solidified his identity in the Halifax music scene.
Currently, he's working on some up coming tours with artists such as Xzibit, Mad Child, Dru as well as, holding it down as the resident DJing for the 6th season of Halifax's professional basketball team, the Rainmen. Hold tight for new mixes dropping very soon and in the meantime you can catch him at Big Tune Tuesdays, with Aldean Alliston creating original songs from scratch every Tuesday night. (by DJ She)
