DJ SPOTLIGHT: LISSA MONET
Fresh off of the release of the latest instalment of her "4" mixtape series, having just released the "4 Jay-z" mix in collaboration with 2DopeBoyz, Lissa Monet is one busy woman! A Toronto native, that has been rocking the decks all over the city for the last 10 years. Probably best known for her Love Letters & Broken Hearts Valentines Day CD mixtapes with fellow DJ, Pplus. Miss Monet has definitely established her self as a DJ in high demand, with accolades including Stylus female DJ of the Year 3 consecutive years in a row , Stylus Mixtape DJ of the Year for Love Letters & Broken Hearts with DJ Pplus and most recently, 2012 Toronto Stylus DJ of the Year award.
When you want to know what new tracks are hot in the club, Lissa Monet is the person to ask...so we did: "Well in the hip hop/trap scene it definitely has to be Young Scooter's "Columbia." I played it one night at a club in Toronto and only a few people knew it, but when I dropped it, they went so crazy that people who didn't know it had to vibe to it. Now people ask me to play "that Columbia song" all the time." (by DJ She)
