RSS BOYS - RHN MARM MARB MARX RHN
RSS Boys are an entity form by two musician-travellers : Boy One & Boy Two. Together they explore, with a total freedom a choice, electronic music bringing to it voices, tribal rythms.
RHN MARM MARB MARX RHN, their new track, can be find somewhere between the idea of techno-music and experimental music. The ensemble is hypnotic and purely interesting, you don't really know what sound you are earing, moan, bells, synths, percutions… but the entire thing sound perfectly coherent, like a universe they would have created.
Sam Gallaitry - The Gateway
Sam Gellaitry is only 19 and is really good to synthesise sounds. His last EP Escapism was eclectic and feeled with disonant harmonies, not that far from grime. And it's confirm by the first extract from Escapism II, his new EP to be released. The Gateway is definitly electronic, but brings real instruments with it, the young producer shows once again that he knows how to use his samples and how to build a song that is a lot of things, but not an ordinary thing.
Klangtof - We Are Your Receiver
Indie pop is not dead and Klangtof wants to confirm that. Tthe goup compose an alt-pop, made with several layers, shade, chilly sounds, vaporeous atmospheres… On We Are Your Receiver, their new track, the first track following "Hostage", they bring classy percussions and a singing built on loops and make a song that is refreshing and remindable.
ナイトNaito - Without You
On without you, Naito uses sample of a girl super accelarated on a groovy beat a house synths, that makes you want to dance. Inspired by japenese house-music and the label PC Music, Naito is definitly not inventing anything, but the track is still well produced and nice to ear.
Shinnosuke Sugata - Are They Comely
Don't let yourself get confuse by the english title, but Sagat's track is entirly sing in japanese. It is a wonderfull piece of folk music, the ones we don't ear that much these day. It all starts with his voice, a ukulele and a violin, and brings an old-days feelings. The japenese lyrics brings confusion to it, as if you weren't expecting to ear that, and then the song goes from relaxing parts to more epic ones from the begining to the end. By the end it is relaxing, really enjoyable, and brings you this sentiment of happyness that have no language.

RSS B0YS Boiler Room Poland Live Set
S000ND WYTH W000ND (PHYSYC00L SRS V0L1)
"I work with artists for freedom of work and creation, it is important. I value the spirit of collective creation, searching for joy of free energy. This is my guideline during performances, cooperative works, or technical development," says AltanovaPress label boss Sebastian Buczek (read more about Polish labels, including Altanova here). The message is not only the recording itself, but the medium as well. Not content with the usual black plastic, he has released his records on beeswax or chocolate. The latest installment comes courtesy of the mysterious Polish shamanistic techno project RSS Boys. Faithful to their affinity for cryptic track and record titles, S000ND WYTH W000ND comes on one-sided 8’’ transparent lo-fi disc, made on a Polish machine for recording playable/listenable greeting-cards from the 60’s. Its cover printed on vintage paper in Lublin, this disc works with different speeds, it comes with two wholes - centre and off-centre. "The idea of the two wholes, material and other things, was proposed by Sebastian. We fitted two special versions to this sound as well at various speeds....There is a lot of strange bass," say RSS Boys. Like modern alchemists, the AltanovaPress embodies the spirit of the DIY, organically so.
RSS Boys - N00W and their tribal shamanism
Very tribal. Those two words resonated through my head as I put on the latest RSS B0YS release and rhythms started to emanate in my room. This mysterious Polish duo with strong bonds to the label Mik.Musik.!. have landed their latest release NOOW on the cassette imprint Sangoplasmo.
From the very beginning of this release, the listener is transported into an uncompromising frenzy. Forget introduction or preparation. Africa is on fire, heavy drums are pounding straight from the very start, a primitive but very physical sound starts to slowly evolve into hypnotizing repetition of tribal fury filled with hazy, distant oriental auralism slowly entering into long lasting jam of the instruments. The drum is the key and center of everything. No time to rest, beat keeps going all the time with sudden breaks and new themes entering, putting more tension and ending in a grande finale of viciousness. Side two is more relaxed and dubby with a noisy and distorted ambience filled with deep bass drum escalating into sow house groove and intense build ups and ends silently with reverbed pads. It is a noisy, but still airy nightride jam.
There is a mysterious question mark floating above the project and their tumblr page filled with pictures of oriental women in veils, masks of the ancient tribes or steampunk devices only add to this mystique. This is war without the modern weapons, pure crystallized animal fury which could set every club on fire, while still keeping a decent and sophisticated face despite it's heavy and distorted moments. One of their rare live acts happened on Unsound festival which banned photographs and thus only a couple of hand drawn pictures exists from their show. They dressed up in masks which resembled a cross between a burka and a bee mask. Willing to give up the indentity for the sake of the concept may not work that fully all the time, but this is not the case of the RSS B0YS, their final statement on this release is complete work of art.
