“ I don’t know how it got this way.”

Clear isn’t displeased by the events that had played out but the ending wasn’t quite what he’d ever thought it’d be. His words are just muttered aloud as he twirls the clear umbrella with one hand watching it spin until it slows to a stop. He hadn’t even noticed Kyouya until he turned on his heel and met his eyes a brief look of surprise flashed across his face and he almost brought his hand up to cover his bare face. Instead the hand that wasn’t holding his umbrella was shoved into his pocket. It had been almost a month since he’d last put one of his masks on but the instinct to hid his face was still deeply ingrained in his actions. He’d come suck a long way from only being able to take his mask off in front of the people he trusted. 

His resolve to do away with them entirely had been fueled by constant reassurance given by close friends, because Clear was afraid of what people would think, what they could say or even do. Yet no one treated him any different than they had, well that was a lie, strangers no longer whispered among themselves about him as he passed them. It was somewhat of an improvement he guessed.

Clear smiled at Kyouya, “I think I like it better this way, everything feels so much brighter than they did from behind those lenses.”

😶 For how I think our muses would get along if they haven’t interacted yet

Komui terrifies Clear, not that he’s ever done anything to earn his fear, but something about him brings up feelings of a time he can’t really remember that sets his heart racing painfully and seizes up his chest making it hard for him to breathe. Panic, its pure full blown panic. Its an irrational fear and he knows it, but he tends to avoid Komui for the longest time, unconsciously ducking into other conversations to just avoid speaking with him. However Clear feels guilty because Komui never did anything wrong, so he tries to fight the fear and casually approach him which turns into a disaster.

A friendship between Komui and Clear would be strained until Clear gets time to get used to him and really get to know him. But its at no fault of Komui. However when he gets used to Komui I think he’d be much friendlier with him and they’d even be very good friends just based on personality alone.

😶 For how I think our muses would get along if they haven’t interacted yet

Itachi is a very daunting man, stoic silence isn’t something that Clear’s all that used to so at first he might find it really hard to even approach him despite having seen him several times at the police department. However that’s never enough to keep Clear away for long, approaching him had been hard, but the hardest part was getting any sort of response to his idle chatter and probing questions. If Itachi doesn’t see him as an annoyance I feel like he’d eventually sink into a comfortable area where he’ll chatter to the other man for a while fully expecting nothing to be said in return beyond a few acknowledgements that he’s listening or a few words here and there in response. In turn for not turning him away and for working so hard Clear leaves muffins for him with little notes that say ‘Eat this to keep your energy up!’ with various doodles of jellyfish decorating them.

As far as the interactions go I don’t think they’d quite be friends if they end up somewhat getting along. However, this doesn’t mean they don’t have the potential to become friends, just that I don’t see it as something happening so soon.
