Maybe this is just me, but I get like . Annoyed when people call the 2016 cast the original because that is?? Very far from the truth, the show first started in 2008 , the original is practically lost media

Also I hate the fact that whenever I see pictures of Chaz or Adam’s Mischa, there’s at least one comment saying “ not my Mischa” it’s ok to have preferences but saying the other actors aren’t talented and not giving them the credit they deserve for their time with the role is kinda crummy.

and my point about "big" productions mostly refers to how they publicize themselves. there is tons of promotional content with those productions, i remember seeing them before any of them performed, and its clear that they are marketing their shows with the intention of being seen! or a production such as opera wyoming, where the actors and theatre interacted with the fandom to advertise. but when there are theatres with literally no marketing or promotions, it can be assumed they arent trying to get famous on the internet. i doubt many of these people know they are being talked about on tumblr or being clipped and reposted on tiktok.

yes i have interacted with rtcblr! /nm i have quite a bit actually, i have been on here for many years, even before the show got popular. and as the fandom grew to the size it is now ive watched people obsess over highschoolers and college students as if they are part of the original productions. i wholeheartedly support the archive and i think it is a good thing to do! but the way the small theatres are treated (on tiktok, mostly) is strange to me.

i understand that the local/community theatre productions made this fandom what it is but i just wish people would think about that a little more. it feels like a wild violation of privacy, but that might just be me. just putting my thoughts out there, not mad at all!
