Baby Max cleared his throat and repeated dutifully, “Are you excited for your first race?”
“Oh yes! And a little nervous too. I hope I do well and get some points!” and Charles did look excited. He had that glint in his eyes, making them sparkle and his voice had a happy little lilt to it. But he was also wringing his hands together showing just how nervous he was.
Baby Max snorted obnoxiously and snickered, “With that shitbox of a car? Mate you should be happy if you even finish the race and not DNF haha!”
What did Baby Max just say?
“Thanks.” Charles deadpanned.
“Oh sorry I didn’t mean to offend,” Baby Max quickly added.
“That's okay...” Charles started to say but apparently Baby Max wasn’t finished.
“It’s just the car was so slow during testing, not to mention how bad it was at taking corners, it couldn’t even ride kerbs properly and gosh the weight. It’s so heavy, the tyre deg will be insane even on circuits where tyre deg shouldn’t be an issue. Your team is also full of amateurs so good luck getting a decent strategy and..”
Max helplessly saw as Charles’ face became increasingly sad, gone was the sparkle in his eyes and this idiot, who happened to be his past self didn’t even seem to care and kept going.
“...Ericsson mentioned the drivability was just awful. So really the car has nothing good going for it. And…”
