Well, at least the music is enough to dance to. I can’t say much for the decorations.
This is definitely not like any party I’ve ever been to... wow. I didn’t think they could fit even more trees in here during the holidays...
The Yule Ball is so big!!
House Cup: Origins and Announcements
The Hogwarts House Cup is a tradition dating back to the founders of Hogwarts. In order to support and encourage both unity and diversity within their school, the four founders established a cup in which two students from each house would be selected to compete. Those students, known as ‘champions’ would then compete in a series of tasks, representing their houses to their best of their abilities and showcasing the individual traits that each founder favored.
This cup is now held once every decade to honor the founders and to celebrate the best qualities of each House within Hogwarts, in the hopes of promoting a greater sense of goodwill and admiration between them.
As of this moment, the House Cup will be placed in the center of the Great Hall. It shall remain there until January 1st. All those who wish to be considered for the role of champion need only place their name within the cup before the end of that day. Two champions will then be selected and announced at the great opening feast for the House Cup.
Take heed, this competition is not for the faint of heart.
Before the announcement of these eight champions, the traditional Yule Ball shall be held this December. This event exists to increase the bonds of friendship between the houses before the competition commences. Formal dress is required (ball dresses and dress robes). All students will be expected to attend as a sign of solidarity towards interhouse unity.
With no further ado, the cup is unveiled and the Hogwarts House Cup begins!
