✶ THE NATURE OF GOD AND THE TRINITY
Yahweh / YHWH (also known as Elohim, El Shaddai, Adonai, & many more) is the sovereign creator of all things. All power, all magick, & life flows from Him. Nothing exists outside of His sovereignty. God is not a solitary figure, but expressed as a Trinity; three persons sharing one divine nature.
✦ THE FATHER
The Father is God in his fullest sovereign expression; creator, sustainer, & ultimate authority over all of creation, & all beings within it. While equal in essence with the Son & Spirit, the Father holds a position of headship. He is the face of God most associated with sovereignty, justice, and creative power.
✦ THE SON
Jesus Christ is not a separate being from the Father, but the same God made knowable & approachable in human form. He is the most relatable face of God; the person of the Trinity closest to human experience. Even before his earthly life, Jesus was part of the Trinity. John 1:1 says "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God", confirming Christ's eternal existence and his role in creation. Jesus Christ implements the plan of the Father. He is the face of God most associated with mercy, compassion, and redemption.
✦ THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit, known in Hebrew as Ruach HaKodesh, is the feminine person of the Trinity. In Hebrew, the word ruach is grammatically feminine, & this is reflected throughout the biblical text & in early tradition. In Aramaic the word for Spirit, rucha, is also feminine. The earliest followers of Jesus, per the apocryphal text, Gospel of the Hebrews, referred to the Holy Spirit as "My Mother". The femininity of the Holy Spirit does not make God a goddess, but rather, it reflects that God in His fullness contains all & transcends gender. The Holy Spirit administers the plan. She is the active, present face of God in the world & within us, most associated with comfort, inspiration, intuition, & inner guidance.
