HEALTHING --  ICU saves kids' lives, but problems persist

BY RUBEETA GILL (FGJ ‘21) --  Three years ago, three-month-old Nathan Todt started to struggle to breathe in the middle of a cold November day. Within 24 hours, he was admitted to a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) in Ontario with a mechanical ventilator doing the breathing for him. Two weeks later, when the breathing tube was removed and Nathan was discharged to the inpatient ward, his parents thought that the worst was over. In fact, it was only the beginning. READ MORE.
