on my rarepair bullshit again thinking about ruby kane and emily zhang. dead moms. talking about their sons in the afterlife. and emily saying how proud she is of her son's sacrifice at alaska, buring his life's thread – she resents that it's something he was forced to do, but couldn't be prouder of him. and ruby's suddenly hit with the realization of how awful the loss of a child could have been for emily. how painful and wrenching it would have felt to lose somebody so close to you to a sacrifice for a supposed "greater good" . and then she's like wait a minute 🤔🤔 didnt i do that
