so, this kind of turned into me messily jumping from one idea to the other because i couldn't stick to one theme...hope you enjoy, anyway, though!:

kate always opens the door for the people she cares about. she's a chivalrous gentleman at heart so she loves doing that,"i've got it," thing while she reaches for the door handle. it's also a protective instinct that becomes engraved in her mind once she fully commits to the superhero thing.

the SECOND she sees you shivering for whatever reason, she slips off her jacket/coat and wraps it around your shoulders. she doesn't care if you're not that cold or if you tell her she's being dramatic. she'll merely secure her jacket around you and bring you closer to her body to shield you from the chilly air.

kate's definitely the type to lie down in the middle of the living room when she's feeling tired or overwhelmed. you make her buy a nice rug to stop her from lying down on the cold ground all the time. her "brain breaks" always end up with a sleeping lucky keeping her pinned against the ground. [she loves him too much to push him off]

she loses her mind whenever you wear anything purple, especially if it's a shirt or hoodie of hers.

she's not controlling or possessive in any way but she can't deny the way her heart races when you wear the arrow-shaped necklace she bought you as a gift. she had thought it was silly, that you would make fun of her for spending far too much money on something insignificant. instead, you made her help you put it on and you've worn it every day since.

kate can't sit in chairs correctly. it doesn't matter where she is or what type of chair she's sitting in, she's going to do something weird and claim she's somehow comfortable.

she comes up with the most ridiculous nicknames for you and you can't even complain because she always looks way too proud of herself.

also, holding her hand when the two of you are walking somewhere is a must.

Are there any writers you like who also write for Kate that you recommend?

i'm so happy you asked, lovely anon! there are so many talented writers on this hellsite so allow me to shout them out

@scmg11 has a TON of fics that i absolutely adore. she writes for hailee and all her characters so there's a lot to read.

@unholyhelbig also has a ton of kate fics + mini series that i can't recommend enough

@midnightmayhem13 mainly does headcanon sets but they're a delight to read so check them out for sure

@katebishopshands doesn't have as many fics as the ones listed above but check them out if you haven't because wow

@anninastv is just starting out but her ideas and her writing are amazing. she's also just a lovely person in general!

these writers all have strictly 18+ blogs so minors do NOT go over there or we're all going to have problems

@caroldantops i would be a massive asshole if i didn't start off this list by shouting out silver. everything they write is incredible, their kate fics especially!!! they're also kind of the reason i decided to venture into smut writing so do with that information what you will :) [also, they have the most creative anons i've ever seen, idk what kind of witchcraft they did for that]

@belovaskitkat is an incredible writer in general but her kate fics obviously have a special place in my heart. also, she's just an absolute delight to follow.

@kitmoas mainly writes dark!fics so beware of that but her writing is out of this world

@cthulhus-curse doesn't write as much for kate but i still 100% recommend [also, they get a bunch of unnecessary hate anons so i just wanted to bring them up because their writing deserves nothing but love]

i’m assuming the elephant in the room you’re talking about is actually a BUFFALO with an engagement ring which in that case…yeah, i wanna throw hands, a chair, some sense at them, literally anything. the point is something is getting thrown and i’m so pissed off that i’ve started just finding the whole thing funny at this point [not because it’s fun but because it’s so fucking ridiculous and i’m so fucking done]

You uhh...got any head cannons for kate bishop?

so many at any given time, lovely anon. i don't know if you had something specific in mind but i'm gonna leave a few of my current/favorite headcanons here:

kate is INCREDIBLY forgetful. she doesn't do it on purpose and she hates it but there are way too many things going on inside her brain at one time for her to focus on the mundane things she has to do like replace a glass she broke or buy a new pair of boots.

she definitely puts up sticky notes EVERYWHERE. on the bathroom mirror, on the fridge, on her bedroom door and she still manages to forget things.

it doesn't really bother her until she starts dating you and she keeps forgetting planned dinners and important dates. you never hold it against her which just makes her feel even worse. so, you take over for her.

you replace the old, worn-down, sticky notes with your own. they're a ridiculous pastel color that looks more ghostly than purple but something about the change in handwriting seems to help her. [or maybe it's just the fact that you went out of your way to do something nice for her]

speaking of her bad habits, she's touch-starved as hell.

it's not like her mom has ever been the warmest of people and she's definitely never gone out of her way to get the affection she so secretly craves so she just writes the need off and tells herself physical touch just isn't her thing...except it is.

it's such a subtle, comforting thing that she doesn't even realize it. she just knows she loves holding your hand and snuggling up with you on the couch while you watch some trashy movie.

you never question her about it but you know deep down, she needs the affection more than she lets on. something that becomes incredibly obvious after she comes home from a mission gone wrong and immediately collapses into your arms. she's tired and bruised and so done and yet she holds onto you for hours like you're her personal charger.

LASTLY, she has a lot of trouble sleeping sometimes [mainly due to nightmares and worries but also just her restlessness] so the two of you get into the habit of making tea and sitting out on the fire escape. [until she inevitably falls asleep with her head on your shoulder and you're forced to stay outside in the cold because she just looks too darn cute to move.]

alternatively, you take her on a walk. [and she loves it far more than she should]
