hiiii i was wondering you if you could a one shot for corrupted scarlet witch x fem reader ! the concept art for the corrupt scarlet witch is so creepy and cool looking, i think it would be cool to have a fic where the reader goes missing, maybe was taken by wanda’s enemy to threaten her, and she becomes corrupted as she reads the darkhold trying to find ways to get reader back. and then once she finally finds reader, she is scared that reader will be afraid of her because of how she looks now but the reader just looks to her for comfort still and even asks wanda if she’s okay and if her current form gives her pain etc. it could be a cute rescue hurt/comfort
would you even want me? [W.Maximoff]
pairing: corrupted!wanda maximoff x reader

You had always known getting involved with the Avengers would be a bad idea.
In your defense, you hadn't done it willingly. Okay, that wasn't the full truth. You'd gotten involved with one specific Avenger willingly, even though you wanted nothing to do with most of the other heroes and their shenanigans. Most of them were reckless and had egos bigger than their biceps and had cost you anything from a cheap bike, to a car, to your apartment. You respected what they did in some way, but they were public nuisances most of the time.
After so many rants about them and pissed off Reddit threads, it was almost comical that you fell for an Avenger. Then again, Wanda wasn't like them. She'd seen more tragedy than most people and had somehow managed to remain a good person, instead of letting Ultron continue his plan. Tony Stark had been responsible for her parent's deaths and yet she still shared a roof with him. Cooked meals in his kitchen. Slept in the bed he had provided for her.
She was made of contradictions like that. Maybe that's what drew you to her in the first place. How fiercely she protected those she loved and how soft her touch was. How she could destroy worlds with her hands yet somehow held you like you were the only thing that mattered.
That had been true even before the Snap happened.
What remained of you in the aftermath was...hard to describe. Before Thanos, you'd been on the run with Wanda and the rest of "Team Cap". It had been complicated but despite it all, you were free, with the woman you loved, and protected by the few friends you had left. Vision had made sure of that.
And in the blink of an eye, you'd lost it all. Your partner, your friends, the tiny apartments and hotel rooms you'd called home in the fallout of the Avengers coming apart.
You didn't have much before the Snap, and you certainly didn't have anything after.
The only reason you stuck around Natasha and Steve was because you genuinely didn't know where else to go. So, you stayed. And when they told you hide in the city because they were going to make things right and bring everyone back, you did the one thing you hadn't done since Wanda disappeared: you trusted them.
Even though you hadn't dared hope their plan would work, it somehow did. And before you could even wrap your head around what they had done, Wanda was at the door of your apartment, looking exactly like the woman you loved. Exactly how she'd looked 5 years ago.
Despite that, you knew things were never going to be the same between you. More than that, you two would never be the same people you were before everything happened. But the love was still there. And that meant more to you than the version of Wanda you'd kept in your heart since the Snap.
That love, however, wasn't enough to keep Wanda's enemies at bay. Because somehow, she still had enemies.
Although to be fair, you should have known better than to hunt down Vision's decommissioned body. You should have told Wanda to stay hidden, to take some time to readjust to the world, to learn to grieve for the reality she'd lost.
It wasn't that simple, though. Vision had been her closest friend, second only to Natasha who hadn't even had a body to bury after it all, to tell her to forget him and move on with her life didn't feel fair. She hadn't been able to bury any of her loved ones, telling her to let go of one more person without proper closure felt impossible.
You never expected to be caught in the crossfire so badly. You had expected a lot of danger after Wanda broke in to steal Vision's body, probably some agents coming after the two of you or constant surveillance. With Wanda's powers, it was hard to take the threat seriously.
Maybe if you had given the threats more weight, you wouldn't have been caught off-guard.
It had all happened so fast, you still weren't sure what happened. One second everything was normal, the next you were being grabbed and thrown into the back of a vehicle, a needle in your neck making the world go black. You didn't even know if you'd been able to yell for Wanda.
And just like that, everything had changed.
Your world narrowed down once more, except of just your room at the Avengers Compound, now all you had were the four walls of the cell you were kept in. All things considered, it wasn't inhumane. The bed was comfortable enough, they didn't starve you, and they left you alone most of the time to avoid hearing your constant insults about S.W.O.R.D and the asshole in charge.
They never told you what was happening outside, though, or what had happened to Wanda. You assumed it was a tactic to make you believe she wasn't searching for you, but instead, it just made it very clear that they had no clue what she was up to. That meant she'd either gone into hiding or she was working on a way to stabilize her powers enough to essentially break into another high-security complex ran by S.W.O.R.D.
Even as the days dragged past, you weren't worried about yourself, you only worried about Wanda. About the loneliness she must feel, the difficulty she must be having navigating a post-Snap world, the lack of allies left who would actually give her the time of day.
Everything sort of blurred together.
Until the S.W.O.R.D lackeys stopped showing up to check on you.
Their presence wasn't necessarily needed, or missed once they were gone, but you were still locked in a cell with no way out and not much food left. It very quickly dawned on you that if Wanda didn't find you soon, you'd die right there. Forgotten and ignored.
You weren't sure how much time had gone by since S.W.O.R.D. had left you behind, much less how long it had been since they'd taken you, but eventually, once the last of your strength was dwindling, you heard it. You heard her.
You almost thought you were imagining it at first. A twisted hallucination meant to mock you...or take you into the afterlife.
It certainly didn't help that you heard Wanda's voice but didn't see her. At least not at first. Though, to be fair, you were on the verge of passing out, either from the overall exhaustion or the overwhelming relief of thinking she had finally come to rescue you.
"y/n?" Wanda's voice reaches you again, but your vision swims as you try to look at her through the cell door.
Instinctively, you know it's her. The voice, the frame, the way her fingers twist and turn to swirl her chaos magic. There's no way it could be anyone else. But her face has changed. You try to meet her eyes only to realize you can't quite find them. It's hard to deny that the person in front of you is Wanda though her visage has been transformed.
Maybe in another moment, it'd be terrifying. Maybe grotesque. Maybe you'd be questioning why the love of your life has half her face almost morphed into a crown of sorts. All you care about right now, though, is that she's finally found you.
"Wands," you croak out. "You came...for me."
"Always."
If she says something else, you miss it, succumbing to the exhaustion clawing its way out of you.
Whatever comes next doesn't register to you and it's not until you wake up hours later that you realize just how worried Wanda had been. And just how different she is now.
All you fully register for the first few minutes is the warmth of the sunlight on your face, streaming in from the open window overlooking a lush forest. The sight is so refreshing you almost burst into tears right then and there. You can't even remember when the last time you felt the sun was or how long it's been since you breathed in something besides the recycled air of the cell.
Then your eyes shift over and find Wanda in the chair next to the window. In the light, you quickly realize you didn't hallucinate the changes to her face. In all honesty, you can't even call it her face. You're sure her eyes have to be there somewhere but the oddly-shaped crown that's overtaken the top half of her face completely hides them from view.
Without even asking, you already know Wanda went through hell and back to get to you.
"Wanda..." Your voice comes out as a mere whisper, your fingers flexing as you try to each for her.
She moves in an instant, her leftover exhaustion vanishing into the air. "Detka, you're awake. Don't move too much, you're probably dizzy."
You manage a nod and a small smile as her fingers close around yours. The dizziness is certainly present, as well as a fuzzy feeling you chalk up to either dehydration or lack of proper food or both. "I missed you."
"I'm so sorry," she whispers. Though you can't see the tears, you can clearly hear them in her voice. "I should have found you sooner...I shouldn't have let them take you in the first place."
"Not your fault. None of this."
You can barely make out the shape of her frown under the edge of the crown. "Maybe not, but y/n...you don't know what I've done...the person I've turned into...you shouldn't be with me anymore."
Your head starts shaking before she even finishes her sentence, fingers tightening their hold on her just in case she tries to let go of you. "It doesn't matter. I just want you."
The words seem to unravel her, her body folding forward until her forehead rests on the edge of the mattress. Despite your words, she's still leaving distance between you. Still fighting with her own need to hold you close after everything.
Your free hand lifts and you reach out to touch the pointy ends of the crown. The touch is feather-light, more of an exploration than anything else, but it still causes her to shudder.
Wanda's head lifts once more and you can't stop yourself from cradling the bottom half of her face. The leftover shudder turns into a flinch and for a second you worry she'll really pull away. That her guilt will be too much for either of you to bear.
Instead of letting that happen, you speak up. "Does it hurt?"
"No," she murmurs. "Not anymore, it's just...a part of me now."
Despite the weight of everything you've been through, and everything she has suffered without you, a small smile pulls at the corners of your lips. "So, why would I love it less than any other part of you?"
The wave of relief that hits her extends all the way out to you. It's like for the first time in a long time, you're able to breathe again. To stop feeling the weight of loss and pain and the absence of the one person you needed most.
Your thumb brushes the edge of her jawline on autopilot and her shoulders drop another fraction when you don't even react to how different she feels now. You'll probably catalog the differences later once everything settles. For now, you're satisfied knowing her feelings for you haven't changed. Whatever she went through didn't change her enough to make her stop being as caring as she's always been.
"You know," she says, her voice carrying the slightest playful lilt. "I should be the one comforting you, not the other way around."
If she's trying to get you to laugh, it works perfectly. "It's not a competition, Wands."
"Maybe not, but I still want to take care of you...will you let me, detka?"
"Yeah, of course."
You tug on Wanda's hand and she joins you in bed, hesitating slightly as she works to get settled without pressing on any of your bruises. You, on the other hand, are a little less concerned with the lingering pain in your body.
All you care about is having her arms around you again. The rest you'll figure out together.
it’s really starting to piss me off that all the Nolan fans can only reply to people who didn’t like his movie by calling us idiots who lack critical thinking skills. my brother in christ, i have a classics degree. i have a degree in over analyzing ancient texts and over thinking about ancient societies. i think i can understand what the major themes of the odyssey are just fine on my own
hiii i saw your requests were open so i was just wondering if i could request a fic of kate bishop coming back home to see a drunk f!reader on the couch, the buttons on their shirt unbuttoned and showing some skin which turns on kate 👀👀 then kate tries to take care of them and sober up which eventually leads to her confessing and them going down on each other
can you get enough of me? [K.Bishop]

* * * * * * *
There weren't many moments that filled you with as much embarrassment as your current situation. Sure, there have been worse moments. Flirting attempts that failed, essays you thought you aced that earned you a terrible grade, countless missteps that ended with your face kissing the sidewalk. Yet somehow, you have absolutely reached a new low: crushing on your roommate.
Not just your roommate, your closest friend and the most loyal person you've ever met. Loyal to a fault and protective to the point of fighting every person at the bar that stares at you too long. It's cute. Or at least it would be if the two of you were dating. But you're not. Because alongside being loyal and protective and way more adorable than she has any right to be...she's also oblivious. Terribly, terribly oblivious.
To be fair to her, she's a little bit too busy with Hawkeye stuff and trying to stop Bishop Security from imploding without her mother to pay much attention to your subtle hints about your feelings. Although part of those hints have been making out with her during a night out at the bar so maybe she just doesn't feel the same way about you.
Which leads you to your current situation.
Usually, you only go out drinking when Kate goes with you. It eases her anxiety and ensures you make it home without any uncomfortable situations happening. This time, though, you decided to go out while she went on a surveillance mission with Kamala. You were sure she was going to be gone until early morning so you maybe, probably, absolutely went overboard with the drinks. As if the taste of alcohol could somehow drown out the knowledge of what kissing Kate Bishop is like.
A stupid idea that turned into an even stupider reality...and far too many of your things scattered all over the entrance to the apartment.
It had seemed like the safest choice to sit down on the couch for a few minutes and try to stop feeling so nauseous. Of course, it would have been better had you grabbed some water or some food. You did neither of those things and flopped down to catch your breath...and then didn't find the strength to get up.
You managed to slide off some of your clothes before you overheated, but you were sure you still looked a mess. A drunken, yearning, mess.
Something that was okay with you since you were sure you were going to be home alone for the rest of the night.
Until you heard keys jingling outside the front door and Kate's muffled mumbling as she no doubt argued with herself about something stupid.
For a second, your excitement over seeing the archer took over your rational brain and you forgot you were absolutely in no state to be interacting with her. Best case scenario, you said something weird but forgettable and she helped you to your room. Worst case scenario, you said something really weird and ruined your friendship.
"y/n?" Kate calls out as she walks deeper into the apartment. "You still awake?"
"Yeah, 'm just...takin' a break," you respond, doing your best to control your slurring words.
Your trick might work for the first few seconds, but the second Kate sees you, there's no denying the state you're in. "Wait, are you drunk? You went out without me?"
"You were busy." You shrug. "And I was bored. Thought I'd go out for some fun."
"Some fun?" Her eyebrow raises as she looks you over. "You look wasted."
"Looks 're deceiving."
Kate just stares at you, your drunken haze making it seem like she's drawn to your open shirt. You know better than to listen to your dumb thoughts, but the light flush on her face makes it hard to focus.
She must notice you watching her because she clears her throat, her hand coming up to rub at her neck. "Jeez, you're really gone, huh? Let me get you some water."
You simply hum, leaning back and letting the couch cushions consume you. As embarrassing as being in this state is, you can't say you're not glad Kate's here to look after you. Even though that only makes you want to tell her the truth.
When Kate comes back, she offers you a glass of water and a plate of reheated pizza with a shrug. "Thought you might want some real food."
You accept both with a smile, pretending you didn't absolutely brush your fingers against her just to see her blush more. "You're the best."
She sits down next to you with a chuckle but lets the silence linger. You're weirdly thankful for the lack of noise as it makes your head spin a little less.
The two of you stay like that for a while, with Kate watching over you as you slowly sober up little by little. It's not until the pizza's finished and she's refilled your water a few times that she speaks up again.
"So, um...is there a reason you decided to drink so much?"
"Do I need to have a reason?"
"I guess not," she replies, her fingers starting up their anxious drumming on her leg. "You just usually ask me to go with you so you're not alone. Did you meet someone or something?"
"Why are you so interested in what I did tonight?"
That question finally stops her in her tracks. She stumbles over herself a few times, starting and stopping before finally just sighing. "I'm just worried I'm too late."
The words send a rush of hope through your system almost as intoxicating as the leftover alcohol in your system. "Late to what?"
"To realizing I'm an idiot for never telling you the truth."
That's all your brain needs to hear before you're moving. You don't even give yourself a moment to overthink it. You just lean forward and kiss her, your hand fumbling with front of her shirt to pull her closer.
For a split second, Kate freezes, almost like her brain is overloading as it tries to comprehend what's going on. But then the shock wears off and she's moving too. Her hands find your waist as she kisses you back, sliding under your open shirt to feel the heat of your skin.
"For the record," you mumble when you pull away for air. "I like you too."
"Yeah, I realize that now." She chuckles softly, leaning down to pepper kisses down the side of your neck. "Could've just told me instead of going out."
"True but then I wouldn't have seen you jealous."
"I was not jealous. There isn't even anyone to be jealous of."
"But you thought there was."
"Shut up," she grumbles.
You use your grip on her shirt to move her in, shifting around until you're practically laying down on the couch with her on top of you. "You first."
The flush on her face when she looks down at you is borderline heavenly, her mouth curving up into a shy little smile. "Yeah? Can I...?"
"Please."
The impatient shift of your hips paired with your soft plea seems to break down her resolve almost instantly. One of her hands drifts down to your jeans, fidgeting slightly with the button. "Are you sure? I don't want to go too far."
Her slight hesitation borders on adorable. Here you both are, finally doing something about your pent-up feelings after dancing around each other for so long and she still doesn't believe you want all of her with all the strings attached. Maybe if you weren't still sorta tipsy, you'd be doubtful too.
"I'm more than sure," you reply. "And if you don't hurry up, I'll just do it myself."
That finally gets her to act.
She slides your jeans down your legs, leaning in to kiss the bare skin of your inner thighs as its revealed. The touch borders right on the edge of teasing and reverent and you can't stop yourself from reaching down to tangle your fingers in her hair.
Her kisses move higher up your thigh, lips ghosting the damp patch of your underwear that is absolutely her doing. She's so close to where you need her yet too far and your impatience makes you tug at her hair to bring her closer.
"Fuck," she groans, eagerly going with the movement.
It's impossible not to grin at that. "You like that? Who would have thought, so stubborn yet you like like being bossed around, don't you?"
All Kate can do is moan again, tongue darting out to lick a stripe up the fabric. It's filthy and messy and it feels far better than it has any right to. Your fingers tighten their grip on her hair as you shift impatiently again, waiting for her to do more than just tease. Though to be fair, she seems so delighted that you don't think she's even trying to be a tease, she's genuinely taking her time.
You pull on her hair again, earning another soft sound and her eager fingers pulling your panties down and off your legs. Once the fabric's out of the way, she settles more comfortably between your legs, her thumbs spreading you open to watch you flutter around nothing. "Holy shit, you're so wet. Just from a little kissing?"
The teasing tone in her voice makes you clench around air, but you're feeling far too bratty to let her win. "Don't act like you're not."
"We're not talking about me right now, baby." One of her fingers teases your already sensitive clit, her hand moving up to hold you down as you twitch under her.
You groan, equal parts turned on and annoyed by her attitude. "You shouldn't be talking at all."
Kate hums as if she's thinking over your words. "That's a good point, actually."
Without another snarky comment or teasing touch, she leans forward the rest of the way and takes your twitchy clit into her mouth. The sensation is overwhelming in the best way and the only reason your hips don't buck is because of her grip on you. "Shit, Kate..."
Though her mouth is far too occupied, you have no doubt she'd look up at you with a cocky grin if she could. You don't even give her a choice and instead just pull her closer, rocking up into her as much as she allows.
Two of her fingers tease at your entrance while she draws figures on your clit with her tongue. You're not sure if her finger gather your arousal or her own spit but you don't really care as she slowly pushes in. "Fuck, you're taking me so well."
Whatever need to be bratty you'd had before this instantly fades away the deeper she slides into you. Instead all your thoughts, all your needs, boil down to making sure she never stops. It seems Kate has the same thought as you because her movements manage to get more deliberate. Perhaps not surprising after so many years of archery but it still manages to punch all the air out of your lungs.
The angle of her fingers paired with the consistency of her tongue on you is painfully unfair...and incredibly addicting. You clench around her, drawing her in as you try to grind against her mouth.
This time, she can't hold her amusement in. "You're needy, aren't you?"
As embarrassing as it feels to admit, you nod. Because of course you are. Because after fantasizing about her for the past few months, after the drunken kisses and almost hook-ups, denying how badly you want her is out of the picture.
Instead of saying any of that or forming a single coherent thought, you just continue your movements, chasing the pleasure she's giving you so freely. "Please, Kate."
You half-expect her cockiness to take over and distract her like usual, but her focus holds steady. And instead of teasing you, she doubles down her attention on your clit.
You pull on her hair again and you practically feel the way she smiles into you, her fingers crooking slightly inside you. Even without words you know she knows how close you are. How quickly her touch has completely unraveled you.
"Let go," she mumbles as your thighs shake against her head. "I've got you, y/n."
Your body responds before your mind can even catch up. Your orgasm hits you all at once, the steady pressure that had been building suddenly unleashed with Kate's murmured encouragement. By the way she sees you so completely even while you're busy trying to deny it.
She wastes no time in cleaning you up despite the mess you make of her chin. It doesn't seem to bother her since she's too fascinated by the wetness spilling out of you when she pulls her fingers out. Her tongue eagerly laps at your folds, dipping into your cunt like she just can't help herself.
It's not until you pull on her hair again that she finally lifts her head to look at you properly. "That good, huh?"
You huff. "Yeah. I guess you could say that."
Kate shifts up until she's hovering right above you, that stupid smile almost making her face glow. "For the record, I really like you."
"I noticed that," you reply, reaching out to run your thumb over her bottom lip. "You were very eager."
"What can I say? I'm very dedicated."
Your response is to laugh and pull her in for a kiss that's equal parts sweet and obscene. "Hope you've caught your breath because we're not done."

Kate Bishop x Stark!reader, secretly dating and kissing and getting caught by Tony.
just a fleabag [K.Bishop]
pairing: kate bishop x stark!reader
summary: galas are usually boring, but sneaking away with your girlfriend is far from it.
warnings: none, just some suggestive comments/jokes; brief making out (and getting caught); alcohol references; kate manages to not fangirl over tony somehow
wordcount: 1.6k
a/n: look at that, i managed to write another fic before six months went by! it's a bit shorter but it was weirdly fun to write, even though i still can't tell if i'm messing up kate's characterization or not. let me know if kate's ooc because i have not done my homework (aka rewatched hawkeye in like two or three years). anyway, that's all, hope you enjoy <3
* * * * * * *
If there's one thing Tony Stark is know for, it's hosting galas and then finding a way to not show up to them.
It's usually not a big deal. He plans them, spends far too much money inviting people and journalists, and then finds a way to spend the night hiding in the garage, working on his old Iron Man suits. It's a good strategy but unfortunately, it's never shared with you which means while he's off avoiding everyone, you're stuck socializing with strangers all night. On its own, it could possibly be fine, except you also have to spend the night answering questions you have no real answers to and pretending it's not gross to hear so many people drool over your dad.
Though maybe it would be worse to have to see it.
Then again, hearing it is just as bad. Especially when your own girlfriend takes the joke a little too seriously.
"Hey you," Kate greets as she slides up next to you, pretending like you weren't making out in a supply closet less than an hour ago. "Are you sure he's not going to show up tonight? 'Cause my mom keeps telling me to behave."
"I think she's just trying to be helpful to your terrible reputation," you reply, reaching out to fix the collar of her shirt that you absolutely did not mess up on purpose earlier. "That or she still thinks she has a chance of convincing him to let her join the company."
"Probably." She swats your hand away to fix her shirt herself. "Makes no sense, though. Isn't Pepper the one in charge now, anyway?"
You nod. "Unofficially. He just likes being the face of everything for some reason."
The little smirk Kate gets is the only warning you have that she's about to be a little shit. "I mean, you can't blame him, it's a beautiful face."
"You're so gross," you groan.
Your annoyance only makes her smile wider and you suddenly understand why everyone thought the two of you hated each other at first. You probably make quite the picture, her with her stupid grin and you with you glare. Then again, as long as the rumors don't reach your dad, you don't care what people say about the two of you.
"What? It's true." The sincerity in her tone almost makes her comment worse. At least she has the decency of grabbing two drinks from the waiter that walks by and handing you one.
"I guess, but it makes it seem like you're just with me because I share a face with him." You literally shudder at the thought, the cheap champagne doing little to wash away the bad taste the image leaves in your mind.
Kate pulls her signature "thinking about what else to say to annoy you" face, her free hand reaching out to brush your fingers. "No, he's still more handsome."
"Oh, shut up already," you mutter, taking another sip of champagne and letting her fidget with your fingers.
Your annoying archer doesn't seemed deterred by your words at all. "Make me."
It takes a lot of self-control to hold yourself back from smiling. However, your self-control isn't strong enough to stop yourself from reaching out to tug at her blazer and pull her closer. It helps that everyone around seems to be too invested in their own conversations to pay attention to what the two of you are up to. "You're a brat."
She just smirks wider. "You like it."
You take the opportunity to slide your hand under her blazer, fingers tracing shapes up and down her spine just to watch her shiver. "I prefer you on your knees, though."
"I think that can be arranged, Ms. Stark," she murmurs, leaning in closer.
"Don't make promises you can't keep, Bishop."
She's about to reply when the sound of whispers grows too insistent to ignore. You both take a step back just in case before you look around, finding the culprit at the door, with Pepper trailing behind him and a champagne glass in hand, looking unbothered as ever.
"Oh, of course," you mumble under your breath, making sure to take an extra step away from Kate.
"I thought you said he wasn't going to show." Though she tries to put some humor in her tone, she's just as annoyed as you are...mainly because now you have to pretend to dislike each other again.
"Well..." You shrug. "He hates being predictable."
While there might be more to say, it can't be done when all the journalists around start searching for you, clearly waiting for an opportunity to snap a picture of you and Tony. So, you swallow your annoyance at being interrupted and leave Kate's side. As optimistic as you want to be, you have a feeling you won't be seeing her until the end of the night. And that's only if you manage to leave the venue without your dad tagging along.
You can't let those thoughts cloud your mind, though. Especially not when all the vultures around are fishing for the next big story. As annoying as it is, pretending you and Kate are rivals is better than the alternative. The last thing you need is all of New York watching your relationship unfold and hoping for your downfall (because drama is always more entertaining).
That's how you end up spending most of your evening moving around the room, pretending to be interested in whatever dumb conversations people are having. It's exhausting and boring and the second you see Kate move out of the main room and toward one of the side hallways, you don't hesitate to follow.
You excuse yourself from the group you're with and make your way out toward the hallway, pausing to make sure no one's looking too hard.
Something grips your wrist as you walk past one of the many doors and before you can blink, you're pulled inside, a hand coming up to cover your mouth before you can even think to gasp. "Did you miss me?"
Despite the loud sound of your heartbeat in your ears, you relax back into the steady body holding you close. You still make a point of biting at her hand so she lets go. "Yes, but you could have just texted instead of being dramatic."
Her arm tightens around you and when she pulls you closer, you grind back against her hips just because you can. "Oh, but this is so much more fun."
Well, who are you to argue with that?
You turn around in her arms, your hands coming up to cup her face and pull her in. Kate moves willingly, her smile almost distracting you too much to actually kiss her. You've been waiting for hours, though, so you force yourself to focus and give yourself over to the moment...and your ridiculously gorgeous girlfriend.
"Have I ever told you how much I love it when you wear a suit?" You murmur when you pull away, your thumb stroking her flushed cheek.
The brunette pulls a mock-thinking face, her eyebrows furrowing adorably. "Hmmm, I don't remember, why don't you tell me just in case?"
You barely suppress the urge to roll your eyes, choosing instead to kiss her again. If she minds, she doesn't even try to announce it, choosing instead to pull you impossibly closer to her.
Your hands move down from framing her face to slide under her blazer, fumbling blindly with her stupidly tucked in shirt. Kate chuckles against your lips at your impatience, moving back just to tease you.
You're about to complain when the silence between you is interrupted. The door to the supply closet opens abruptly, flooding the small space with sudden light. The enclosed space doesn't give you any room to pull away from Kate and all you can do is brace yourself for the picture that is most definitely going to be taken.
Instead of a bright flash or the sound of a camera shutter, you hear the loudest sigh known to man. "Jeez, kid, you couldn't find a better hiding spot?"
Of course. Of fucking course. The universe has quite the sense of humor, it turns out.
"Oh my God, it's your dad," Kate whispers to you. Unfortunately, because of close you all are, Tony absolutely hears her.
"No shit it's her dad." His eyeroll is far more dramatic than it should be. "You couldn't go home or something? I did not need to see this."
"I'm not happy about this either!" You reply. "You were busy at the bar last time I checked."
His glare is almost amusing. "Hey, I paid for it, might as well take advantage of it."
"Listen, I'm-"
"Not talking to you, Bishop. Really not interested in any details, just get out of here before someone else finds you."
You laugh despite yourself, the embarrassment of the situation melting under Tony's relentless sass. You can't tell if he's keeping things relaxed for your sake or his, but you don't really mind either way. At least he's not scolding you for making out with the successor of a rival company.
"Fine, but I don't want you complaining if someone says they saw me leave before the party's over," you say, your hand finding Kate's and squeezing before she freaks out.
"Yeah, yeah, just get going, kid. We'll talk tomorrow."
"No, we won't," you mumble and earn yourself another glare.
Despite that, Tony doesn't try to stop you when you start walking past him, dragging a blushing Kate behind you. It's not until you make it to the elevator that she finally breathes again.
"Holy crap, that sucked," she says, running a hand through her messy hair. "Do you think he's mad?"
"Probably not, he didn't even try to threaten you."
also yes, i did complain about the new olivia album and then use one of the songs (that i don't even like lol) as inspo for the new fic, leave me alone, we all have our issues 😂😭
I have a request, if you are still accepting those, but I was wondering if you could make a fic where player Kate is absolutely whipped for the reader. Kate is infamous around campus for her ways so it was a bit of a shock when she fell for the reader especially as hard as she did. They started out as friends with the reader confessing but also admitting that she wanted a relationship but she knew Kate didn't and she refused to put herself through that so they ended up being friends, throughout the course of their friendship however, Kate realizes that she's falling hard for the reader and is helpless to stop it.
i think you're what's wrong with me [K.Bishop]
pairing: player!kate bishop x reader
summary: after years of pretending the two of you were just friends, kate finally admits how hard she's fallen for you
warnings: none, i think; slight miscommunication but it's only a few lines; friends to lovers; slightly cheesy moments; unfunny jokes; yelena cameo because my hand slipped
wordcount: 2k
a/n: hi! i was in a massive slump for like five months and somehow, i wrote this fic in like four days. yeah, i don't get it either. i don't necessarily love how it turned out (sorry lovely anon), but it's a start. i should probably also mention that it's been FOREVER since i've written a kate fic so hopefully she's not too ooc. so yeah, hope you enjoy <3

If there's one thing you're known for around campus it's how patient you are with one incredibly chaotic Kate Bishop. Most people tended to stay away after the bell tower incident, not willing to entertain whatever random idea got into the archer's head. Even before she had absolutely destroyed the bell tower and forced her mom to pay to replace it all, most self-respecting people tried to keep some space from her.
It wasn't like she was a jerk. In fact, she was quite the opposite. Always willing to lend a helping hand, to carry whatever shitty furniture up to someone's dorm, to buy far more alcohol than a small party needed just to make sure everyone had a good time. She was honestly too nice for her own good.
The reason people stay away is that Kate is awful at relationships. She tries, there's no denying that, but her attention span can't really handle being committed and her willingness to help other usually ends up being misconstrued as her trying to get into someone's pants.
It's ridiculous, in your opinion. How does helping someone move their couch turn into being forced to make out with them? It makes no sense and yet, that's what Kate is known for. And you are known as being the one person who sees through her bullshit and can actually stand her.
What no one knows is that you've been crushing on her for as long as you've known her.
It's cliché, there's no denying that, but it's the truth. Ever since she stumbled into the seat next to yours in a half-full lecture hall and asked for a piece of paper and a pen because she had somehow forgotten her backpack at the shooting range, you'd been smitten. The chaos she represented was somehow adorable to you and when after a few weeks of the same routine she asked if you wanted to join her for lunch, there was no going back.
That didn't mean you weren't cautious, though. Being friends with her was easy. You could joke about her terrible habits, playfully guilt-trip her into buying your coffee for a week, and help her whenever she landed herself in trouble because she was "giving eyes" to a girl with a boyfriend (even though she always rambled on and on about how she wasn't flirting, and it wasn't her fault the girl was totally into her).
In a weird way, it had been easy to get used to it. To get used to her.
And somehow, she had gotten used to you too.
It's why a couple of months into your developing friendship, you'd forced her to talk about her constant string of "situationships".
"So, are you a player or not?" You'd asked over the most obscenely sweet diner milkshake you've ever had. As if Kate's ADHD ass needed something to make her more hyper. "Because it kind of sounds like you are."
The speed at which she'd blushed bordered on superhuman. "What? No, I mean...not on purpose and not because I'm a jerk or anything. I guess I'm just not very good at the whole romance thing."
She looked so apologetic, you almost felt bad for laughing. Almost. It was ridiculous and sweet enough to convince you to stay friends with her even though you knew there was no world in which you didn't fall for her. Though maybe, you were more ridiculous for telling her as such.
"Well, don't take this the wrong way, but there is no way I'd ever date you."
"Okay, rude. I still have feelings."
"I'm just not looking to get my heartbroken like half of the girls you're friends with," you said with a shrug. "I'd rather not even try."
"Yeah, that...that makes sense. I'm much better at the friend stuff."
If her smile faded for a few seconds, you didn't catch it. You just laughed it off and waved the waitress down to order some terribly greasy fries.
For a while, that was the end of it. The world kept turning, Kate kept going to her archery competitions with you on her arm, you kept sharing your notes when she inevitably slept through class, and you both ignored how thin the line between platonic and romantic got. Because it was easy. At least easier than having to compete with everyone else for her attention.
That was what you told yourself, anyway. It worked better than the alternative. Being Kate's friend and being heartbroken about that was better than actually getting your heart broken after pursuing a relationship that wasn't going to go anywhere.
Unbeknownst to you, Kate had always had a completely different opinion on the matter.
"Kate Bishop, if you keep pacing, you will ruin my nice floor." Despite the light exasperation in the Russian's voice, its obvious she's more than used to it.
Yelena Belova had never been anyone's idea of a best friend until Kate stumbled into her life. Now, she was stuck with the archer and though she complained a lot, she really did love her.
The archer in question didn't even glance her way, choosing instead to keep pacing. "What am I supposed to do? I can't just tell her how I feel, I'll sound like an idiot."
"You are an idiot."
Yelena's comment is ignored again.
"But I can't not tell her, I mean, what if someone else tries to make a move on her? What if I'm too late and she finds someone more stable than me?"
"She most definitely will," Yelena mumbles to herself. "Kate Bishop, you do know worrying so much won't do anything, right?"
At that, Kate finally turns to look at her, a sheepish little smile on her face. "I just want to do this the right way. I want her to know how important she is, that it's not a game for me."
"Then perhaps begin with that, yes? Stop guessing, just uh...scream from the heart or whatever the expression is."
"Speak from the heart?"
"Sure, that too."
Despite her nerves, the brunette actually laughs. There's no denying her predicament seems quite silly to anyone else, but she's thankful that Yelena's doing her best to be supportive. Even if she doesn't understand what the big deal is.
Maybe it's not a big deal, but it is to Kate. She's spent most of her life avoiding romantic relationships and for the first time in a long time, she actually wants to pursue someone. Not just someone. The one person who actually understands her. Hell, she understands her enough to know better than to try and get into a relationship with her.
It could be easy to write off her feelings as simply wanting the one person who doesn't want her, but that's not what it is. She just wishes she had a way of explaining that without sticking her foot in her mouth like always. Then again, if you've stuck around so long, maybe you wouldn't find that super surprising.
What you do find surprising is the text you get at 1 PM on a Saturday that completely derails your plans for the day. Well, calling it one text is a bit of an understatement. It's more like a string of sentences that actually make up seven different messages. You just write back and pretend your heart doesn't do a little somersault when she replies with a heart emoji.
And just like that, you change your plans for the day in order to get ready and meet Kate at the same little diner twenty minutes from campus that you've been frequenting since you met. It's not much but in a weird way, it feels like something just for the two of you. The one place where no one judges, no one stares, and no one snickers when the two of you pretend you're not making each other blush.
After spending far longer than you should have debating what to wear, you finally make your way into the diner, your eyes instantly finding Kate's nervous frame, her foot tapping almost loud enough to hear from the front door.
"They're going to start charging you for the hole you're making on the floorboards," you tease as you approach the table.
Kate laughs in response, but the sound isn't quite convincing. "Ha, Yelena said the same thing earlier."
The mention of the Russian makes you pause slightly, her nervous behavior and seemingly urgent text quickly becoming suspicious. There's never been any indication that Yelena's interested in Kate the same way you (and half of campus) are, but with the way she's acting...maybe you had been wrong in your assumptions.
"So...what's going on? You sounded pretty desperate to see me."
Instead of making her laugh again, your words make her fidget with her fingers, her eyes seemingly wanting to look at anything but you. "Yeah, well, I just, you know I've been busy and we haven't had a chance to talk about...stuff and...and us, I mean not that there is an us, just you know-"
"Kate." You sigh and reach out to grab one of her hands before she decides to bolt. "What's going on? If something happened with you and Yelena, you can just tell me. You don't have to freak out about it."
Your response only seems to spike her nerves. "Yelena? What, no I don't, there's nothing happening over there. Why do you think there is?"
"Well, I don't know what I'm supposed to think. You've been driving yourself crazy going back and forth between New York and here, I guess I just thought you had another reason than just confidential Hawkeye stuff."
This time, she actually pauses. The space between you fills with enough silence that you're sure you can hear the cogs in her brain turning at superspeed. You expect the brief time-out will help her gather her thoughts enough to give you a coherent response but well, Kate will always be Kate.
"I'm in love with you," she blurts out. "I- I'm not an expert, really I don't know anything, but I know I've never felt anything like this before. And I know I'm awful at what comes next and I completely understand if you still want nothing to do with me, but I can't keep lying to both of us. I can't pretend I'm not going crazy trying to hide the truth from you."
For a second, you wait for the other shoe to drop. For her to say "never mind" or to actually run so she can avoid the aftermath or to remind you that she doesn't want a relationship.
Nothing happens, though.
Kate just waits. No jokes. No judgmental looks. Just raw patience and a half-bitten lip.
It seems time itself stops until you finally manage to find your voice again. "You're such an idiot."
If she wasn't expecting that response, she doesn't let it show. She just nods and intertwines your fingers. "Yeah, I know. I should've told you the truth sooner. I was worried you wouldn't hear me out."
"You really want to try?" You ask, an edge of insecurity creeping into your voice despite yourself. "You're serious?"
She nods, her shy little smile twisting something inside you. "Yeah. I want you, only you. If you'll have me."
The fact she's still doubtful shouldn't tug at you as much as it does. "I've always wanted you, Kate...even though you're terrible at this."
Almost as if she's trying to prove you wrong, she tugs at your hand, motioning for you to come sit next to her. Though you roll your eyes, you follow her suddenly needy command and slide in next to her.
You're rewarded with a massive grin and her arm sliding around your waist to pull you in closer. You're practically in the middle of the diner, during lunch rush with crowds of people coming in, and yet she still leans in and kisses you like nothing else matters.
After years of pretending neither of you felt anything, kissing Kate Bishop is the only thing that matters.
GENIE ANON, OMG! i feel like it's been years since i've heard from you on here, hi!
yup still alive, just haven't had much motivation for writing lately. my university graduation is tomorrow though so that's pretty exciting. how have you been, friend?
