A Confession (PhemieC) It's a Homestuck fansong about the relationship between Terezi Pyrope and Vriska Serket. Terezi and Vriska used to be close friends, but they became adversaries thanks to Vriska's harmful actions. Terezi, who dreams of being a legislacerator (a lawyer of sorts, but as execution-happy as the name implies--and law enforcement is a classic path to The Hunt), feels the need to hunt her down and execute Vriska despite her conflicted feelings. The song points out that Vriska is both a victim of her terrible circumstances and a villain to many people she's wronged, but the black and white code of the legislacerator demands that Terezi sort her into one or the other--and Terezi ultimately chooses "villain," killing her old friend.

Subway Song (The Cure) Alright, hear me out on this one: The Hunt is not just werewolves and literal, animalistic hunting in the woods. The fear of being hunted also includes "mundane" crime, the fear of being chased by a killer, that us human beings do have a natural predator and it is ourselves. There's a reason Thrill of the Chase, a statement involving a true crime club, is Hunt rather than Slaughter.

This song present us with a chillingly realistic scenario of a lone woman being followed home with unsettling, deceitfully calm music and a startlingly loud reverb-drenched scream. We never get to know what exactly happened to the woman, all we get is the tense "chase" as she's being stalked like prey by her undescript attacker and the horrifying "ambush/strike" at the end. There's also this not-quite fight-or-flight feeling as you are listening to the song and you anxiously waiting for the scream to happen.
