Name: Ruby Richards
Hometown: Littleroot Town (Johto)
Specialist Type: N/A
Ruby Richards is the kind of girl who you think might be over her head, but in the context of Pokemon battling, she's a bit of a pro. Born and raised in the small town of Littleroot, Ruby always loved the art of Pokemon training, having followed the exploits of famous trainers like Orion Paxton of Akkadios, Cynthia Shirona of Sinnoh, Nemona Milizia of Paldea, and even Ash Ketchum of Kanto. Now she takes to the field of the Pokemon World Tournament with the intent of meeting her idols and showing off.
Unlike many of the trainers of the tournament, Ruby has opted to use only one team for her trials. This team is led by the adorable but surprisingly cunning Mightyena, "Zwei", and the surprisingly chill Skeledirge. But her main powerhouse of the team is the excitable Scizor on her team who she has named "Cresent." Rounding out the team is a Roserade that likes to charm every female trainer he sees, a Weavel who often comes to blows with Cresent and Roserade trying to keep them in line, and a Corviknight that tends to lurk in the background. When asked about Corviknight, Ruby shrugs and says "Dude's been following me around since I got to this region, not entirely sure what his deal is."
Since arriving in Akkadios, she's formed a small group of close companions with three other trainers, including her older sister, but make no mistake. She won't hold back for anyone. Simple soul, that one.
