Hi Amy, I've been reading your blog ad I was wondering if you could help me out... I'm curious about your choice to breast feed as long as your son wants it, and I would be thrilled if you could direct me to some reading on the subject! It's an option I've been considering for when I have children, but I have no idea where to start! Thank you!
Here are some facts that may surprise you.
• In most of the world’s cultures, it is perfectly normal and expected that breastfeeding continues for at least 2 years.
• The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that moms breastfeed their children from birth until 2 years and then as long as mutually desired.
• The worldwide average age of weaning is 4.2 years!
• The Director General of the Health Department in Pakistan claims that 22 percent of infant deaths could be prevented if the mothers had breastfed for at least the first six months of the baby’s life…even more if they breastfed longer. (Isn’t that amazing?)
Also my favorite link: Here
This will let you know the benefits month by month. :)I wanted to go in more detail than this, but I really don’t have a lot of time to research this today. :/ Hope this information helps!!
You rock! Thank you :) I could pick your brain all day, you're like a horsey encyclopedia!
D’awwww thanks sweetie <3
I do love looking at pedigrees, so feel free to send me any you like!
I just saw the anon ask about their horse... And I was wondering if you could do the same for me?? The horses name is Blazshotthebutler. Raced in Alberta, Canada. Got him off the track in the fall. What can you tell me about his pedigree? THANKS!
Of course, I love looking at pedigrees!
2002 gelding by Blazing Fire, out of Rosecolored Dream? Going with that one…
The first thing I see that interests me is Master Derby, his damsire. Master Derby won the Preakness in 1975, and was originally another entry in the Foolish Pleasure/Ruffian race. That race was meant to bring together the three classic winners that year (Avatar, Master Derby, and Foolish Pleasure) but public pressure eventually forced NYRA to allow Ruffian to enter as well. Avatar and Master Derby dropped out. At stud, he sired a nice group of minor stakes winners
Master of the North, his paternal grandsire, was an unraced son of Northern Dancer (look! There he is again!). He sired the wonderful gelding Fire Plug, as well as 1992 Mother Goose Stakes winner Queen of Triumph
The only real inbreeding to be had here is to Crafty Admiral and Miss Olympia. Crafty Admiral leads up back to both War Admiral/Man o’ War (*gasp* Once again!) and Sir Gallahad/Teddy. Miss Olympia, on the other hand, was the dam of champion and track record-setter Crozier. Miss Olympia once again traces back to Teddy, as well as the Hyperion/Gainsborough line
Last thing I like is Prince John/Princequillo on the top line. Excellent
rubysavage reblogged your post: I always piss myself a little bit when Im walking...
Yes. Were trying...give you a heart attack.
A couple of times when it's happened I've been mistaken for a prostitute and that's been ok 'cause both parties have been embarrassed and I've had an explanation. But when someone just slows to a crawl next to me without saying a word I am internally screaming and full on expecting to be abducted or murdered. That is awful.
