there is stefan who is a centuries old vampire, grant it he's not happy to be one but he's not wallowing either. he didn't make it about himself. it was never his idea to get shot by his father and come back as a vampire.
then there's caroline who had no idea abut the supernatural of the town before she turned. although elena is not directly involved with her turning, katherine did kill her to offer her up to klaus along with elena and tyler to get back in his favor
poor bonnie losing her mom (who is suspiciously absent as well) and her grams cause of elena reasons. grant it, it was bonnie's choice to open up the tomb to rescue stefan but you can argue her reasons all day. i don't think stefonnie was as tight back then. i don't doubt though she did it to make elena happy.
fuck everybody jeremy named bar his birth parents had succumed to elena like reasons.
