A/N: Not sure where this came from.... was not what I intended to write but it’s what came out.
Special thanks to @madelinecoffee @shebe67 @zombeeemomeee @imaginarybird for your encouragement. I debated whether or not I should post this but they have convinced me to so.....
Today’s prompt: day 2 // hand-holding
"Science says that it consists of 19 bones, 5 metacarpals, 14 phalanx, ligaments, blood vessels, veins and muscle. What science doesn't tell you is the soothing aura that it provides. The calming powers it possesses. Nor does it tell you the heart pounding excitement I feel when it's in my possession. It can bring tears of joy & tears of heartache. It can unleash the fury of a storm & can stop said storm in its tracks."
“Whether smooth as a baby's bottom or wrinkled and spotted with time, it's power never fades.
It has the ability to tether me to this earth and the ability to send me soaring amongst the clouds.
From the first glance, I knew it would matter to me....that it would change my life in oh so many ways. Some good, some not. Some happy, some sad. Yet through it all, it's been everything I could ever hope for...dream of.
I've kissed it, cried on it, clasped it in fright, grabbed it in anger & held on to it in grief.
I've watched it age with the passage of time. Yet in my eyes it is still one of the most beautiful sights in all the world. I've seen it at its most nimble and at its least. I've seen it at its strongest and at its most vulnerable.
Sorry Farkle, Science is wrong. It's not just bones, metacarpals, phalanx, ligaments, blood vessels, veins and muscle. It's my heart, my world and now that it's time to let it go so it can "slip the bonds of earth to touch the face of God" I can say with absolute certainty that Riley held my whole world in the palm of her hand."
Lucas bows his head, kisses his love one last time and promises that he'll be "home" soon. As he turns from Riley's hospital bed, he looks at his friends, his family including his great grandchildren and says "There is nothing in this world that can compare to holding the hand of the greatest love you have ever known. Our wish for you is that you find the perfect hand to hold as you journey through life. Just like I found hers."
I can’t believe it’s been 7 days. 7 days of pure Rucas goodness and I’m sad to see it end. It was a fun ride but I should probably get back to my existing fics. Thank you Girl Meets World/Rucas fandom, you’ve been good. Enjoy.
RUCAS APPRECIATION WEEK ; Day 7 Rucas Wedding or Rucas’ future
Future Flashes Dribble Drabble
"What do you think looks better for the center pieces: flowers or candles?"
Lucas loved Riley, he really did. And he would do anything for her. But right now, all he could think of is how to get out of wedding planning. It wasn't like he didn't care. In fact, he was fine with the food tasting, the location scouting, the wardrobe fittings, music selection, and finding a fitting entertainment. However, he did not care for the details: like what type of silverware to use, roses or carnations, or what the heck to put as center pieces for the dinner tables.
"Whatever you want Riles, they both look great" he stood at the side against the wall as he texted Mr. Matthews for an idea of escape from this torture.
Riley turned to look at her fiancé and knew he was bored out of his mind. She wanted to include him in all wedding planning but she didn't want to torture the boy.
She walked to him and touched his shoulder, signaling her presence, "Hey, isn't Zay coming over to watch the game? Why don't you go on first and buy some food for tonight? The fridge is looking pretty bare and I'm sure Zay will gripe about the lack of food.”
Lucas looked up at his fiancé with the biggest smile on his face but then tried to hide it, "Really? Are you sure? I'll stay if you want me to."
"Yeah, I’m sure. We just have some minor things to agree upon but I can manage that enough for the both of us." She smiled her pretty smile and Lucas knew that she was releasing him from torture. He hugged and lifted her off the floor, bringing her lips to his.
When they parted, "I love you so much," he stared into her eyes.
"I love you too." She whispered.

Riley nervously sat the plates of food down on the table for dinner. She had went to the doctor today and found out she was pregnant. Since they had only been trying for a couple of months, Riley was pleasantly surprised when she heard. Instead of excitingly calling Lucas and telling him, she decided to cook him a special dinner to surprise him. Almost every food she made had the word baby in it: baby corn, baby carrots, baby spinach, and baby back ribs.
She heard the door unlock and a few seconds later, footsteps. Riley turned around and saw Lucas walk up to her with a smile on his face, "Hi."
He lowered his head and kissed her on the lips, "Hello."
Riley couldn't help but smile as she stared at her husband. "How was your day today?"
"It was great," he said as he started unbuttoning his shirt and walking to their bedroom, "The cutest dog came in because he had swallowed some toys."
Riley could hear him continue to explain his day from his room as she cleaned up the kitchen before they ate. She saw him walk into her view, out of his work clothes and sit at the dinner table.
"How was your day?" Lucas asked as he picked up a baby carrot with his fingers and placed it in his mouth.
"It was good," Riley said as she brought two cups of juice to the table and sat down as well. "I actually have something to tell you."
Lucas stopped chewing and looked at his wife, "Is something wrong? Are you okay?"
Riley smiled at her worrying husband, "No, everything is just wonderful. Can you guess what's special about tonight's dinner?"
With a confused look, Lucas looked down at his plate of food and pondered. 'What do these foods have in common besides the fact that they're all smaller than their average size?' Suddenly, his eyes widened, "You went to the doctor's today, didn't you?"
Riley nodded and Lucas continued, "Are you pregnant?"
A giant smell appeared on her face as she nodded excitedly. Riley squeaked when her husband jumped out of his chair and kneeled in front of her, engulfing her in a hug. He placed the side of his face against the stomach, "Hi baby. I can't wait to meet you."
She chuckled, "It might not be for awhile, I'm only 5 weeks along."
Lucas lifted his head closer to be eye level with Riley and before she could say anything else, he kissed her. "I love you so much."
"I love you too." She smiled.
****
"I ABSOLUTELY HATE YOU LUCAS. HOW DARE YOU DO THIS TO ME? I AM NEVER HAVING SEX WITH YOU AGAIN."
The nurse looked at the poor man who had a scared look on his face. She patted his back, "Don't worry, they always say that. She doesn't mean it."
Lucas gave the nurse an unsure smile and focused on his wife again, "I'm sorry sweetie. If I could, I would switch places with you so you wouldn't have to endure any pain."
Riley glared at him but before she could say anything, the doctor came in, "Riley, we're ready for you to push again. Are you ready?"
Riley nodded and grabbed onto Lucas hand.
The doctor yelled for her to push and Riley did, but soon started crying, "Lucas, I can't, I can't, it's too hard."
Lucas kissed his wife on the forehead and stared in her eyes, "Riley Friar, you are the most amazing woman and you're going to be an even more amazing mother. One more push and you'll be able to meet your daughter."
Riley nodded and screamed while pushing. A few seconds later, a baby's cry was heard in the room.
"I love you so much," Lucas whispered to his wife as they meet their daughter for the first time.
"I love you too." Riley happily sighed.
****
"Bella Bella, please stop crying," Lucas pleads to his crying 4-month-old daughter as he picks her up from her crib and start bouncing her in her room. He grabs the bottle he had prepared beforehand and soon silence was heard in the room as she peacefully drank her milk. He sat down in the rocking chair with her in his arms and closed his eyes.
"Baby girl, I don't know how your mommy does this for you every night and still be so positive and upbeat during the day," he says patting her. "You may not realize this, but your mom is the most amazing woman."
"You're not so bad yourself," he heard a voice say and opened his eyes to see Riley standing at the door. She walked in front of him and gave their daughter, now sleeping, a kiss on the head. "You want me to put her to bed?"
Lucas shook his head, "Let me hold her a bit more."
Riley smiled, "Alright, come back to bed soon okay?"
Lucas nodded while looking at the sleeping baby. Riley slowly walked and before leaving the room, turned her head, "I love you so much."
He lifted his head to look at her, "I love you too."
****
As Lucas walked down the hallway of the house they lived in now, he saw his wife silently sobbing whilst sitting on Bella's bed and walked in. "What's wrong?"
Riley looked at her husband and shook her head, wiping away her tears with her hand, "Nothing, nothing."
He sat next to her and hugged her to his chest, "Can't be nothing if it's gotten you so upset."
After a slight pause, "Bella's going to school now," Riley whispered sadly.
Lucas chuckled at the reason for her sadness, "She's going pre-school honey. You knew it was going to happen eventually."
Riley jolted apart for him and smacked him, "She's growing up too fast Lucas! Next thing you know, she'll be graduating high school and college, getting married and having kids of her own!"
Lucas pulled his panicking wife closed to him again and slowly patted her back, calming Riley significantly, "I think you're thinking a little bit too ahead Riles. She's only three. We still have plenty of time before she graduates and conquers the world herself."
"I guess," Riley sniffled.
He looked down at her and lifted her chin up so she was looking him in the eye, "Plus, you have a new one you can baby for awhile."
Riley smiled and rubbed her stomach, "That's true."
"And maybe by the time he turns three, you'll be pregnant again." Lucas joked.
Riley gave him a pointed look, "You can't get me pregnant every time our youngest turns three."
"You never know..." Lucas teased and kissed her on the lips.
“I love you so much,” Riley mumbled as she pulled apart from him for air.
"I love you too," Lucas kissed her again.
****
"Oh no, I know that look." Riley noted as she saw her daughter walk into their kitchen with a goofy smile on her face.
Sitting at their breakfast counter, Lucas looked up from his paper and turned to his wife, "What look?"
Riley pointed to their daughter, who was currently sitting at the counter next to her father, gigging at her cell phone. "Bella, what's going on?"
"Nothing, just talking to a friend," Bella responded without looking up. But Riley knew better. She knew that look. She had that same look when she came home from her first project with Lucas. Her daughter was in love.
Bella then looked up from her phone, "Hey mom, is it okay if I go to the park with Lucy?"
"Did you finish your homework?" Riley asked as she walked to stand next to her daughter.
She nodded, "The ones that are due tomorrow."
"Okay then honey, just be home in time for dinner." Riley responded.
Bella jumped out of her chair, giving her mom a kiss on the cheek. "Thanks mom!"
Riley watched her give her dad a kiss on the cheek as well and walked out of the kitchen door. She strolled up next to Lucas, "I think our daughter likes a boy."
Lucas' head immediately shot up and diverted his attention his attention from the paper to his wife, "Boy? Too early for boy!"
Riley chuckled at her husband's response, "What? You gave Tristan a high-five when he announced that he kissed a girl. And he was six!"
"That's different! Tristan is a..." Lucas stopped before he got himself in deeper trouble.
Riley raised an eyebrow at him, "Well, at least you still have several years before Lexi starts liking boys as well."
Lucas grabbed his wife by the waist and pulled her close enough for him to nuzzle her neck. "Why does she have to grow up so fast?"
Riley smiled, "That's just something children do."
She felt Lucas sigh and she whispered, "I love you very much."
Lucas lifted his head so he could look at her face, "I love you too."
Day 6. And posting waayy before the deadline. What a great way to end 2015.
This one-shot is pretty short. In fact, it’s more like.. a ficlet, a teeny tiny fic. I don’t actually write the part where he proposes to Riley after he’s given the blessing (this is strictly Lucas asking Cory for permission). But, I did write a proposal between Lucas and Riley for Day 4 and this preludes into that. So, if you want the feeling of continuity, you can read this first and then go back and read Day 4. Enjoy.
RUCAS APPRECIATION WEEK ; DAY 6 Lucas asking Cory’s permission to ask Riley to marry him or Lucas introduces Riley to his parents
Blessing Dribble Drabble
Lucas walked through the halls of John Quincy Adams High School, palms sweaty and nervous as hell. He knew that Riley had her final exam at that moment, so she wouldn't see that he was at the high school if she had randomly checked her 'Find My Friends' app on her phone. He didn't want her to suspect what he's about to do. He walked into an office and saw Mr. Matthews sitting at his desk.
He knocked on the door and saw his head look up with a smile, "Mr. Friar, to what do I owe this pleasant surprise? Is Riley with you?"
"No," Lucas shook his head, "I actually wanted to talk to you sir."
Cory nodded and gestured to the seat in front of him, "What's troubling you Mr. Friar?"
"Nothing is troubling me sir, I’m just a bit nervous." Lucas hesitated but then pulled out a box from his pocket and sat it in on the desk.
Cory knew what was happening. In fact, he had wondered when Lucas would ask him. So when he placed the jewelry box on top of his desk, he wasn't surprised.
He grabbed the box and opened it, seeing a diamond ring, "This is a beautiful ring, are you planning on giving this to my daughter?"
Lucas nodded, rubbing his palms against his jeans, "Sir, I've known your daughter since the 7th grade and everyday I fall more and more in love with her. She helped me come to terms about my past because I know that if it hadn't happened, I would've never met her so early in my life. I believe destiny would've allowed us to meet eventually, but I'm glad I had those school years sir because I realized early on that I had found the love of my life and I can't live without her. I love her. I want to marry her."
Cory nodded and looked down at the ring. He knew how Lucas felt and he was happy that his daughter was able to experience the same kind of love he felt towards her mother everyday. He was just glad that Lucas waited until they finished college and not be like him and Topanga and get engaged after high school.
"Being married is a big responsibility," Cory pointed out, looking at the nervous boy in front of him.
Lucas agreed, "Yes sir."
"There's going to be hard days. Days that may make you feel like you've made the wrong choice."
Lucas shook his head, "Being with Riley is never the wrong choice."
Cory stood up and walked closer to Lucas, sitting at the edge of the desk, "And you think Riley will say yes to you?"
"I don't doubt it sir," Lucas nodded.
Cory chuckled, "I don't doubt it either."
One final look at Lucas, he stood up and handed the ring box back to the boy in front of him. "I don't give you my permission," Lucas' heart stopped a beat, "because it's not my permission to give." Lucas breathed a sigh of relief. Cory continued, "it's my daughter's. But, I give you my blessing to ask her."
Lucas jumped out of his seat and hugged him. "Thank you so much Mr. Matthews. I promise, you won’t regret it.”
Cory pulled back and looked Lucas in the eye, "I know I won’t."
After a pat on the back, they separated and Lucas felt a huge weight lifted off his shoulders.
"Do let me tell her mother first, before you ask," Cory pointed out.
Lucas smiled, "Of course."
"How do you plan on doing it?" Cory inquired as he slowly walked Lucas out of his office.
