Ok, so what Ineeded to do was take a break from drawing a chaarcter I don't really like but then I realised I forgot to post any of the other drawings I did in the meantime. So here we go, the last one of my acofaf portraits!

holy shit i just realized. when Rue shows off their true form for the first time at the tea party, Andhera goes to talk to them. He (for what I'm pretty sure is the first time) touches Rue. takes their hands. Y'ALL REMEMBER THE WHOLE THING ABOUT PHYSICAL TOUCH BEING THE BIGGEST TYPE OF COMFORT ANDHERA WAS GRANTED GROWING UP??? HOW INSTEAD OF ADVICE/WORDS, ADVISOR HUGS THEM WHEN THEY'RE PANICKING???? THIS WAS ANDHERA IMMEDIATELY TAKING STEPS TO COMFORT RUE THE BEST WAY THEY KNEW HOW

"I can't believe people are, like, digging it, maybe?"

This is my love letter to "A Court of Fey and Flowers" and especially to Oscar Montoya's character, Delloso de la Rue (was an owlbear the whole time).

ID: amigurumi crochet of Delloso de la Rue as their true self. They are an owlbear with light green skin. They have neck feathers and wings in bright and dark green, bear like paws with dark grey pads and black claws, a black beak, golden eyes, a cream face with a bright green outline, bright and dark green "socks", and lastly a colourful bouquet of peonies on the right side of their head. The peonies are white, pale pink, light yellow, pastel orange, and light pink. End ID

ID: three photos of the same crochet owlbear, now in a khaki dress with details in the same cream colour as their face. The dress has slits on the center front and back, as well as higher slits on the sides and has shoulder straps that close at the front with cream peony buttons. The bottom of the dress has a wide cream border, along the entire edge of the dress is a smaller cream border that also leads up vertically over the front from either side of the split. At the top center of the dress is a larger cream peony. The front panels of the dress both have two peonies on the wider border at the bottom of the same colour.

The first photo is taken from the front, where Rue is posing with one hand behind their head and the other to the side. The second shows them from the side, showing the thigh high split, Rue's head is turned towards the camera. The final picture is taken from the back, Rue is looking to the left and their right arm is stretched out. End ID

Although I am quite interested in the idea of “Rue’s perfect society”, getting rid of all courts and political obligation, I do wonder how the rest of the group would really feel about that.

We all know Hob isn’t very keen to the idea, mainly because he gets a lot of his self worth and recognition through his service for the Goblin Court.

I think the Lords of the Wing would be… willing, atleast on the outside. I mean, they don’t technically belong to a court. But I don’t believe a part of them wouldn’t shake at the idea of not being seen as politically powerful figures, or not being able to seduce faes to gain that societal advantage. Not to mention the lingering thought of What would Grandfather think? 

Binx has a very different perspective from Rue, she never felt out of place or truly unwanted in the Court of Craft. And at the end of the day, their court didn’t run like a normal court. It was filled with love and barely any formalities or militaristic responsibility, it was a family. I don’t know if she would let go of the one thing keeping the memory of her family alive.

And now Andhera. They have possibly the most interesting point of view. He can empathize with all of the others in one way or another. He has felt outcast like Rue, sitting in the dark caves being told to keep quiet. Like Hob, he has known the scars that war leaves on you and the obligation one has to his court. They understand what it’s like for everyone to know your descendants, and scale everything you do on their achievements, like Chirp and Squak. But what sets them slightly apart is how sentimental they are. A trait fae are not known for having, especially in his court. He loves more than many of the other fae. They revel in the thrills of gossip, romance, and friendship. He is best friends with Hob, and almost fell for Chirp. He admires Rue and their courage. He has very strong feelings for Binx, respect and fondness. All that love was powerful enough for him to create a space within himself to fit Binx’s court in with his own. 

So, although I don’t think Rue is wrong for thinking love is the most important virtue, a belief forgotten by many of the courts, I do not think you have to break the system to achieve love. Andhera has shown that you just have to mold it.
