June 29, 2021 - Rufous-capped Babbler, Red-headed Babbler, or Rufous-crowned Babbler (Cyanoderma ruficeps or Stachyris ruficeps)

Found in parts of Bhutan, China, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Hong Kong, these babblers live in forests. They feed on insects and sometimes berries, foraging in pairs during the breeding season and in small, often mixed-species, flocks at other times. They build deep cup, ball, oval, or cone-shaped nests with side entrances from bamboo leaves, grasses, bark, moss and other materials in low bushes or other vegetation. Females lay clutches of three to five eggs.
