A CAREGIVER AT HER CORE, sadie couldn’t turn down the offer to look after angelo’s daughter while he worked. her own hours at the animal shelter were few and far between and she had been left with ample time, so what was the harm? besides, given how young addy was, the most the brunette had to do was keep away choking hazards and keep her entertained. with a history in babysitting during her teen years and a nurturing temperament that followed her throughout adulthood, the first night of watching addy went by without a hitch. 

the baby had been asleep for an hour by the time angelo got home, sadie having found herself a spot on the couch and a trashy reality show to watch while she waited. a bright smile stretched from ear to ear as the male entered the residence, sadie now on her feet to greet him. “ hey! have a good day? ” she asked, not only out of politeness but of curiosity. his entire situation seemed to be cloaked in mystery and though she’d always been the nosy kind, she knew better than to pry. “ addy was great —- a total doll. ”
