the communication link went offline , the call was his to make     (     so he rightfully believed     )     and acted upon his experience to make the right decision based on his judgement .     they could not wait for the line to be restored , but of course this would not matter to the new president .     a young mind sitting in the most powerful seat , was bound to cause him conflict .

‘     it will not happen again , sir .     ‘     he provided the result of an apology over an excuse . heidegger does realize this will not put him back into the president’s good graces     (     nor was he likely there from the start     ) .     in many ways , rufus did not take after his old man , and perhaps it is the treatment he receives to make him carry this opinion .     regardless , he had a duty to be the president’s right hand     (     even if he is substituted for the turk leader rufus is so close to ) .     pride is the purpose for his persistent efforts , wanting to redeem himself from past insufficient performances .
