[After 10 minutes of begrudgingly offering precious items to Vokodo, only for him to snatch them up and ask for more]

Veth, to Yasha: “Gimme that flask.”

[After a brief hesitation, Yasha passes the flask to Veth]

Sam: “I’ll take one little sip, and then hand it over.”

Matt: “Make a Persuasion check.”

Sam: “Oh, I’m great at that…”

Liam: “I’d kill for that flask.”

Sam, to Matt: “I will take my Reliable Talent, which will make it a 12.”

M9: *groans* *curses*

Matt: “It grabs the flask, brings it up, looks it over—“

Veth: “Magical… platinum…”

Matt: “—one eye brings it in front of another, it places it amongst the horde, and it looks back at you… expectantly.”

M9: *groans* *curses*

Beau: “FUCK this guy.”

Jester: “I HATE this guy!”

Travis: “Give him your husband.”

No lie, this might be one of my all-time favorite CR episodes. And I thoroughly enjoyed this arc as a whole. So much amazing content!

Feel like Matt was trying to pull some shit with the torchblooms inside Vokodo’s lair

He tells the party it is a plant native to the Fire Plane, and only because ~~ I know things ~~ do I get the sense that this could have been an attempt at a misdirect, since initially you might take it at face value that Vokodo is some sort of fire god, or at least some sort of fire entity pretending to be a god. In reality the truth is closer to what Beau seemed to suspect when she tried to (sadly, unsuccessfully) persuade him with Deep Speech during their first meeting. I bet Matt was impressed and proud when she tried that, even though he was probably also like 😅😅😅 because his misdirects were no match for Marisha’s cleverness (and/or maybe the rest of the party’s lack of attention for detail)
