As we approach the topic of sexual abuse I feel like more awareness of sexual abuse inside prison is necessary. Women are continually subjected to showing their bodies because of how the system is set up. Mandatory strip searches and group showers set up an environment prime for sexual assault and harassment for both men and women.

These women made history this month. I was incarcerated with them and studied along side of them. They all challenged me more than I've ever been challenged on traditional classes. They expected more from themselves then any other peer of mine, and their hard work paid off! Congrats EMCF Class of 2014! I'm so proud of all of you and all the women you just laid a path of education for!!!
