The stylist steps away from her and claps excitedly.
"Oh, but she looks beautiful." The few other women in the room stop for a minute to stare at her, they all coo and nod at the same time. "Don't you agree, Mrs. Goode?"
Eleonora Goode has a soft smile on her face that doesn't quite reach her eyes.
"You look like the perfect bride, Christine."
The right bride, she means.
"You can't even see her freckles anymore." Someone adds approvingly as they turn away from her again.
Ziggy takes a moment before she faces the mirror, but when she does she doesn't recognize herself. She could pass for a Sunnyvale princess like this.
There it is again. That tight feeling in her chest.
She needs to get some fresh air.
"I'll be right back," she murmurs, rushing out of the room, but no one notices her leave.
