“Oh, c’mon...”
Matt grumbled a string of curses under his breath as he looked up at the roof of the base. He was so used to climbing the wooden walls of his house to look at the sky in Oklahoma. He never climbed a wall this base was made out of.
He looked to one of his sides to see another Scout. Might as well ask. He gave a low, but loud enough whistle. “Hey! Can you tell me how to climb to the roof?”
"Hey, uh..." Chase looked awkward as he approached his father, hands in his pockets and posture submissive. "I'm back. From Sawmill. I'm real sorry I didn't get a chance to say goodbye or write or nothin'. But... If you ever, I dunno, wanna hang out or somethin', I'm here." He scuffed the tip of his shoe against the dusty ground, clearly feeling quite guilty for the sudden transfer he had been subject to a few months back.
“Oh, hello Chase.” Émile smiled seeing him, surprisingly genuine. “It happens, I understand. To be honest, you... conveniently missed a very shitty period of my life, and I went on leave, so I actually thought I was the one who didn’t say anything. It’s... probably for the best that you didn’t see that,” he admitted, one hand moving to rest on the boy’s shoulder.
“I’m glad to see you. How was Sawmill?”
"Looks like ya gotta hop like a bunny, huh?" Chase laughed, offering Chuck his arm. "Come on, let's see if we can track down somethin' ta use instead."
Chuck too the arm gratefully, groaning. “This is bullshit, man! Like, Jesus! If this lasts too long I’ll have to go back to the wheelchair, man, and you don’t know what it’s like bein’ stuck in one’a those. God, my leg already aches a li’l. Life is stupid.”

There’s an audible MWUH from inside the mask as it pressed against Chase’s cheek, then a muffled chuckle.
The Pyro paused for a moment, gloved hands disappearing in their pockets for a moment with a hum. One hand came back out to pull off their mask as the other withdrew a tiny doll, not unlike the little angel and devil pyro dolls hanging from the straps of their gas canister. This one, however, wore a tiny red t-shirt and a hat, and its button eyes were sewed above a noticeable nose.
With the mask off, Pyro kissed the face of the doll before handing it over to Chase with a toothy grin and a nod.
run-and-chase started running after you! Vance cursed under his breath as he raced to the nearest ammo box, having no more ammo in his Soda Popper. He ran into the RED Scout on his way over, having gotten hit across the face with the other's baseball bat. He wiped his nose and spat out a tooth. "So dat's how ya wanna play, eh?!" He demanded, flipping his Boston Basher out from its holder.
