24 Hour diners are such a great setting for stories. No matter what genre you’re approaching it with this setting is so rich because the recurring characters are the staff, they are the witnesses to the strange, fleeting connections between them and their customers.
The people coming into the diner could be anyone, from anywhere, tired, drunk, lonely, scared. Customers comforted by a veil of anonymity and a warm cup of bad coffee in their hands, feeling the urge to overshare under vaguely flickering fluorescents, while a void of industrial darkness lies just outside.
just another chronically ill lesbian seeking financial support for medical costs! reblogs are appreciated!
This doesn’t come easily, but my chronic back pain has been getting progressively worse over the last several months. Since May my lower back has been at its worst pain in the last 7 years, and I recently had a horrible flare from my T1 pinched nerve that lasted over a week and I could not use my left arm without debilitating pain. I’m worried there is something serious causing my progressively worse back issues and I have sought imaging to find a diagnosis or find a treatment that will allow me to regain some kind of control over my life.
My doctors have requested an MRI but the cost is $1300 CAD. I simple do not have this money and staying on the public waiting list means delays of 12 weeks and I cannot anticipate how my symptoms might progress, and I need to be able to function to make it through my (online) university courses. The goal for this fundraiser covers the MRI cost, continued chiropractic treatments which manage my pain, supplements I take for other health issues, and the upward cost of a second test my doctor wants to run after getting the MRI results, and also considers gofundme fees.
Any leftover funds will continue to support me and my health costs.
If you cannot donate I understand, I would simply appreciate a reblog!
Thank you in advance.
*PS. my real name is attached to this, but I do prefer going by Rooney.
i want to bring back the pulp fiction style of colourful, bold, expressive book covers. idc about current book cover trends, i think this style is eye-catching and entertaining as hell and i want a unique covers for everything i end up publishing no matter the genre
I decided I’m going to have multiple 3rd person POV’s in this new draft of But a Monster and I finally got to Evelyn’s first section and I don’t know what to do with myself.
I haven’t posted about it much bc I have been very unwell with my chronic pain and not working on WIPs much, but I’m making Pupeteer Plague into a podcast series. I have my lovely friend @ravynwrit lined up to voice the main character, journalist Ramona Pepper, and as of now I have 3 episodes conceptualized and keep accidentally expanding the Worldbuilding.
