Trio of Power
Xerath looked around at the charred remains of his soldiers. While not saddened by the loss, he knew now that the reports were true: a beast of living fire had emerged from the City of Gardens, and began wreaking havoc across Shurima. The reports had come about a month ago, and though he was tempted to write it off at first, their increasing frequency was undeniable.
Xerath recalled that day long, long ago, when he himself had let loose a spirit of flame from the very sarcophagus that now bound him. Nasus and Renekton had rushed to stop it, as planned, and left Azir vulnerable... Yet he never learned what became of that being. Xerath had always assumed that the brothers simply dispelled it, but could it be that the Ascended left after the empire’s fall had routed it in the City of Gardens? Or could it be that the charred corpses half-buried in sand around him were the result of something else entirely?
Whatever the case, the trail now pointed north-east, and so that was where Xerath would go. If his soldiers proved unable to stop the beast of rampaging fire, then he would have to do it himself. Little did Xerath realize he was not the only one searching for this living inferno...
