Brine to Wine 16k from Castlecliff to Wanganui What an interesting event today. It was only a small one, like maybe hmmmm 100 people across the whole event (walkers/runners in the full 16k and also the team relays) and not very well sign posted or marshalled. We were somehow second to last for 90% of it and if we turned a corner and it wasn't sign posted we pretty much guessed where to go haha. Quite a bit was along the river which was really lovely. It was quite a flat run and I would say almost an easy run. I felt good all the way, Nicolas back was hurting for the last 5km and at one point she told me she would walk and I could run but we just slowed the pace down and continued on. It stared with perfect running conditions and after about 30 minutes it warmed up and ended up being 25 degrees and a lot warmer than expected too. I won the first spot prize and choose the chocolates which was weird because I'm still sugar free, but I didn't want more house junk to have hanging out. First time I have ever stayed for prize giving too! I felt strong when we finished which is positive for the half marathon next weekend with Nicola too. Then 2 weeks later I have another one in Ohope. Thennnnn 4 weeks till we leave.. eeeppp!
