Running for Water.
Exactly 4 weeks from today, Steve Spear will begin his run across America in hopes of providing clean water for Africa.
Steve became a friend of mine 3 years ago, and is one of the most inspirational people I know. He and his family quickly became my family away from home, and I am so excited for this massive adventure they are about to take on.
Steve will be running across the country for approximately 5 months, running 1 marathon a day and raising $1.5 million to provide a clean water and sanitation system for the town of Bartabwa, Kenya.
The population of Bartabwa is about 30k, and is equivocal to many of the Chicago suburbs that you and I live in. Thousands of the young girls & women who live in this city & many cities just like it could never hope of receiving a proper education because they are forced to spend their days traveling several miles to gather contaminated water for their families, morning and afternoon, day in and day out.
Steve, the Running For Water team and Team World Vision are making huge efforts to change the life projectory of these girls and women, and need support of people like us in order to do so.
