Good luck! At Boulder 70.3 and IMFL, there was no checking in for the athlete meeting.

A quick google suggests a few things:

Some people have never attended or heard of a WTC event where the athlete briefing is mandatory (other than Racine).

Racine has included words like that before, but not in the official athlete guide.

I just checked the most recent 2016 athlete guide and there is no mention of it being mandatory.

Throwback Thursday - spouse edition

Here’s a picture from our college days (1989) when Beth (Runningmyownrace) and I were Resident Assistants at Foster Quad at Indiana University, Bloomington.  The picture at the bottom is from our cruise two weeks ago.  I could write a book about all the great things that have happened in between, but I think the pictures speak for themselves.

Help Beth Pick Her New Ride!

Today we went to the Minneapolis car show and our primary purpose was helping Beth (runningmyownrace) pick out a new 'fun' car.

Beth has always driven responsible cars - first the 4 door Oldsmobile when she graduated from college followed by a series of mom-mobiles (minivan, GMC Envoy, Toyota Highlander, etc.).  She's planning to keep the Toyota to haul bigger stuff and for winter driving, but now is her big chance to get something sporty, cute and convertible.

She's always dreamed of a convertible VW bug but the Jeep Wrangler was very cute too.  Regardless of which one she buys, it will be driven almost exclusively around town in the summer.  Imagine lots of trips to the lakes and trails to swim, bike and run as well as driving around town for groceries, errands, etc.

So... what should she get?  The Jeep or the VW?
