long nights – november 4
The nights are getting longer, so are my writing intervals. I got into routines and nothing seems special anymore. I sing in a very amateur choir – those of you who know my singing skills can imagine its quality when I tell you that I am the best there. And I sing soprano, haha.
I had a speech on the occasion of the anniversary of our state. I opted for a compromise between pleasing the guests and not selling myself to the nationalist nature of the event. The result was a very bad hybrid.
“So you have reservations about the recent political developments in the Czech Republic? You should have developed that more.”
My friend was actually right. But I was exhausted and ill and I so much wanted not to be there. Since then my fever transformed into neck pain and is slowly leaving me, giving way to new energy I have been experiencing the last day: most of my obligations here are either over or far in the future and I work. The early evenings allow me to forget about running and enjoy simple exercise at home or a conceptual performance.
Even more the beer afterwards with my Austrian colleague, though.
