I ordered two corsets from orchard corset and one was the 201 mesh, and measured it immediately and the waist tape had an extra half inch on each side which meant the corset was 19" instead of 18. I've just been dealing with it, which was probably stupid but, idk.
First of all, good for you for measuring the corset immediately when you got it in the mail! Most people don’t, but it’s good practice to do so. That way you know that the corset was not constructed to size, and the company cannot blame you for stretching out the corset.
If you truly don’t have a problem with the fact that your corset runs an inch large, then you don’t have to do anything about it. But if you did have an issue with it, it would have been best to bring it up with the company right away, before ever wearing it.
It would be wonderful if every clothing / fashion company carried clothing true to size - unfortunately, it’s rarely the case, which is why some websites even have a customer rating system where they can say that shoes, bras or dresses “run large” or “run small”.
One would hope that OTR corset companies carry sizes in inches (indisputable) would sell said corsets true to size, but sometimes it’s up to us customers to hold them to a certain standard of quality, especially when production is so high they don’t have time to measure and scrutinize every piece.
But quite honestly, if you don’t have a problem with the corset running large, don’t let it bug ya.
