manny montana as brooks luna a small town lifer in ozark. he has a job as a line cook at ward's diner, often working the night shift alongside cricket. he's not exactly a friend, but he is an acquaintance. because unlike most of the people she works with, brooks doesn't actively hate her. they often sneak out back and share blunts behind the dumpster, just to liven things up and make the slow shifts a little more fun. sometimes they show up at the same parties down at the trailer park, and cricket always has a smile and a "hey" for him.

juliana schultz will have chrissy's face burned into her brain for the rest of her life . as the director of the nicest funeral home in hawkins , julie has seen a lot : from gunshot wounds to farming accidents , she's prepared any number of bodies for burial . chrissy's was one of the more unsettling ones , the way she was broken & mangled ..... and the way she just . kept . bleeding . the way decomposition hadn't started . the way the lights in the morgue kept flickering and eerily illuminating the young girl's face . such soft , sweet features with horrifying injuries isn't a juxtaposition julie sees every day , but even that isn't what really cements this in her memory .

julie was absolutely horrified to find chrissy's body missing the morning after her autopsy . the thought of someone stealing the body of a murdered child was enough to make her blood run ice cold .... but the truth was even more frightening . the girl was alive . julie had pried her ribs apart , had held her still heart in her hands . yet chrissy walks around , doe - eyed & alive as ever . it's something she is completely unable to process , and has honestly tried to black out from her memory as much as possible . julie will , however , cross the street to avoid chrissy if she sees her in public , and will blatantly refuse to look her way & risk eye contact .

brent mckay was tragically , madly , deeply in love with the sarcastic redhead in his trig class ...... who he had never spoken a word to . in his defense , brent had never been much of a talker at all : despite being rather popular and a lacrosse star , he maintained the same shy , soft - spoken demeanor he'd had since childhood .

max , for her part , was completely oblivious to brent's hopeless crush . mike was in the same math class , so most of her time there was spent ribbing him while the teacher desperately tried to keep their bickering under control . she hardly paid attention to the quiet jock at the other end of the row , mentally blending him into just another face in the crowd .
