Laying here thinking, because I think about fiction way too much if I'm away this time of night, and it makes sense Russano turns out the way he does. He grew up around survivors of, at that point, one of the bloodiest battles in history. Unlike our young Tammo at the beginning of the book, he wouldn't have any illusions such things bring glory.

Hello, Mossflower. I appreciate everything you're doing, and I've come for a little encouragement. I'm not the best with my studies, and I have poor time management, but I'm pursuing something I love. Yet I keep slipping up- I forget readings and assignments and get poorer marks. I wonder if I'll actually get to my goal- how can I, if I act like I don't try? And especially when my peers are so much better than me? I love what I'm doing, but I'm not doing it well enough.
(Sorry it took so long to get to this, mod has had issues. Posting this for anyone who’s had similar problems.)
Hello, friend. Lord Russano here! I’m all for playing to your strengths - I was always more of a peacemaker than most badger lords, and I made it work. However, you still should do your best to keep up with the work you have to do. Schoolwork is important even when you hate it, and neglecting it may hurt the goal you actually want to work on. You say there’s a time management issue. Do you know of any friends you could form a study group with? If you have distractions at home, can you set aside some time to spend in the library to work? If the work itself is giving you problems, speak to a teacher and see if you can get some extra help, or if they can help you find a tutor. Practice, practice, practice! As you get better at things you feel bad at now, you may enjoy them more as you get less frustrated and feel you’ve achieved something.
Maybe your peers are doing better at some things than you, but they are not “better than you”. Nobody is good at everything, and there are things you are good at, even if you haven’t found them yet. You have just as much worth as them, and nothing can change that. Look out for yourself, young one, and remember that.
AMORE #2
